Nothing to boycot, 90% of the FCs cant afford it anyway.

Watch out, the white knights will tell you Yoshi was talking about the house not about the land :PRight here:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...IV-Q-A-Summary
specifically:
Not every-craft-at-50 crafters pumping out HQs after HQs (that nobody wants these days anyway), just a few guys that have ONE CLASS to 50.
Boy, they must've zoomed out a lot if they were able to make that much money after getting their first job to 50

If they wanted it to be a grind they should have gone in a different way. I agree that the biggest FC house in the best spot should not be something you can get in 1 day, really I totally agree on that. However, just making it a one big ass gil grind is just stupidly boring and shows that SE and Yoshi have no idea of how to make a game fun.
They could have asked for a certain amount of logs, ores, whatever for a S M or L house ... that way a FC had to work together in a more fun way than just farming gil while making use of the completely destroyed market. Yoshi can lie all he want, the only reason the houses are insanely expensive is because they are trying to remove excess gil from the broken market because SE did not and still does not deal with bots and RMT properly.

The prices are really upsetting.
I have been playing this game almost non-stop as I don't work, trying to make gil for housing. Leveling crafting classes, making and selling everything that I found to be profitable. Watching the MB, finding little niches to target on weekly and daily basis. I've mined up thousands of shards and ore and leather and thread and philo tome mats and sold everything, spiritbound and sold so much materia. Crafted expensive pieces of gear and sold those.
I have worked my butt off making as much gil as possible in this game in anticipation of housing.
I have made 2 million gil.
I really wanted a house. That's what got us to choose this game over all the other mmo options.
Two million gil, playing the game pretty much full time since beta. Granted, I have helped out my FC mates (only like 12 of us and we're really tight) and everyone else combined as they all have full time jobs, we can put together about 4 million.
I am really disappointed.

It's true that most of us will be 'de facto' boycotting the housing at launch because, lets face it, most of us don't have the gil. But I think it's important to express solidarity in principle too--even IF my free company had the gil, we wouldn't pay these prices. They are very insulting and disrespectful to the players and their time and effort. Add to that the discrimination that is going on between different server groups, and it is outrageous.
They know their content is broke if, after all of this excitement and build-up, nobody chooses to play it.
Let's make sure they learn, if not the easy way (listening to us on the forums), then the hard way (nobody is buying).

Not sure it counts as a "boycott" if you don't have the money in the first place...

Topic starter. Hahaha. Thanks for the laugh. It shows all the hardcore 24/7 farming of mats cannot gather enough gil for 100 mil gil housing. *wink* at OP

I agree with this. I' don't think my FC will be buying a house even once we can afford it unless SE drops the prices.
And I find you here! Well said, Mr Ghalleon. It's true that most of us will be 'de facto' boycotting the housing at launch because, lets face it, most of us don't have the gil. As someone not far above said, this seems like a poor fix to a broken economy. That more likely will not work and will only frustrate the majority of the playerbase, since the core of corruption is still there, destroying our economy every day relentlessly.
