I don't think you read the patch notes right. You server numbers are as follows at launch:
Small 20,000,000 -- 21,250,000 -- 22,500,000 -- 23,750,000 -- 25,000,000
Medium 75,000,000 -- 79,687,500 -- 84,375,000 -- 89,062,500 -- 93,750,000
Large 250,000,000 -- 265,625,000 -- 281,250,000 -- 296,875,000 -- 312,500,000

So it read more like this:
Largest possible plot: 312,500,000g/ 512 members = 610,305 gil per person
Largest possible plot: 312,500,000g/ 155 members = 2,000,000 gil per person
Small first class plot: 25,000,000g / 20 members = 1,250,000 gil per person

Now for the reality. The largest guild on you server is 269 members strong so...
Largest possible plot: 312,500,000g/ 269 members = 1,161,000 gil per person assuming every member is active in that guild

It IS a small amount. You can easily make 50k+ from gathering clusters per hour. And probably a similar rate from fishing.

As long as people need materia, then people will use crystals and clusters to craft the stuff you spiritbond. Also, people will buy foods and potions for Coil, and possibly for Crystal Tower, especially now that they won't expire on deaths. People on the fence about buying 15 foods because of 14 wipes, will now buy it because they'll only need 3 for their turn, the cost/benefit will be reasonable enough. If people want to become rich, they won't all stop spending. Because they need to spend on certain things to make certain other things. Not everyone gathers everything on their own.

Easy for a 2nd in charge of a FC. Tell that to those who have to contribute gil and have no say in the housing. Who will work hard for your housing?

Thanks, now that I know, and everyone here knows that you can make 50k per hour from gathering clusters, we should all go do it because the price wont drop when everyone is doing it and no one is buying it since they need to save millions.

People throwing idiotic replies out saying "its ez to make gil" are completely blind to the fact that you always think you can make that 50k per hour..........

Shards were 40/gi on my server 4 weeks ago, 3 weeks ago they are now 7-8 gil.
Philo items were 100k 2 months ago, 1 month ago they were 20k, probably less now like 10-15k

because people get on the band wagon, and flood the markets and there is less desire to buy the items to make the gear.....

Same with housing
- EVERYONE trying to make tens of millions
- NO ONE buying anything (defeats the purpose of making money...)

= Massive price drop on everything because there is more supply than demand and people are desperate to sell and everyone in the XIV Community undercuts like its black friday every minute of the day.

IMHO Balance is important for any game. Achievable goals balanced by the effort required to reach them. I contributed over 100,000 to a FC that went defunct. Currently member of a small-tight knit FC with about 20 members who play every day. 8 mill is way above our capacity for purchase. We have all been chipping in for months crafting and gathering and have just about 1 mil. Don't need a mansion but would like a home to enjoy together. I personally would like to see SQ balance the marketplace so we could make the gil. I worked my tail off for 50 Leather. Dungeons dropped lvl 40-50 gear better than crafted. Leather goods produced for other DOL or DOH only. Imbalances affect large chunks of game play. I'm excited about some of the new challenges, but I would like to see more attention placed on a healthy market not dominated by gold seller's or bots. It is easy to review and identify market hogs to examine. Then maybe we could afford a tidy little cottage to call our own.

You for some reason think personal housing be any different? People expecting 800k for small, and maybe couple mil for large, like 8-10 at the max. Then SE was like lolnope620mil, 62% of the Gil Cap! woop

Personal Housing be no different, I expect on Calibur a large personal house to be 70-80 mil, medium 35mil and a small 15 mil, still stupid amounts no casual player can accord and housing is meant to be casual fun cosmetic enjoyment, not something only the hardcore rich can afford.

Wildstar have it all right, their housing system is INSANE and anyone can afford it lol
