    It doesn't make sense in terms of pvp or pve balance, so I really don't get what their rationale was.

    I am more worried about the pet. Pretty much obey and steady will mean the same thing. I hope that is mistranslated. I need a dev to tell me this.

    Upon further inspection of this quote;
    "When set to Obey and Steady, pets will only execute actions when commanded, and will remain in the Steady stance."

    I may have been quick to judge. It now means that you can set obey and steady. Before you could only do obey and guard, which was troublesome to scholars. All we have to do is hit obey and guard, if this is the case then there is no problem. I admit that I read it and did not think it through. I was just upset with thunder and the allagan casting boots stat nerf that I transferred over those feelings to that section. I still want a dev to give us a proper explanation to thunder, allagan boots nerfing, and assurance of obey and guard.

    For the Obey/steady thing. It isn't lost in translation. But what you can do is have your SMN pet in guard mode and just click obey on your target. this will allow them to auto attack (this includes the first skill that is often spoken about as Garuda's Auto) and not use their other skills.

    You can also probably do a Bio macro that casts Bio and hits Obey in the same thing to make things really easy. If you are on steady though garuda will not "auto attack" however if you are already hitting obey there really isn't a reason for SMNs to be in steady is there?

    for SCH it is nothing but awesome. ^ ^

    That is what I found out after rereading it. I already mentioned that my emotions got carried away. Initially hitting obey would put Garuda on automatic guard. All this would do is to make sure we hit guard first and the hit obey (if steady was hit for any reason). On another note the nerfing of the casting shoes is not that bad considering that the we can recover accuracy and critical with Tremor Earrings of Casting and the Omnitome book (It will take me a while to get the allagan book, my steady is no where near getting her down).
