    Forbidden Meld/Meld Caps for any item

    How do you determine what is the max an item can hold? For example if I have a Gryphonskin Ring, how much more skill speed can i put into it? how much crit rate, determination,vit, etc can i put into it? Thank you.

    when you attempt to meld it tells you the affect of the stone. Other than that no way to tell based off of a formula or what not. Seems to be randomly different per item.

    I tend to meld a lot. Most of the caps are known so check xivdb.com. Just search the item and most of the caps will be in the comments.
