Luminary weapons - 2.1 Patch notes

Notes here for those that haven't seen them. They're looooong.
    http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...7af43f3c43828a

    Relevant excerpt:
The bonus attribute Reduced Durability Loss +10 has been added to the items below.
Saw of the Luminary / Hammer of the Luminary / Mallet of the Luminary / Gavel of the Luminary / Knife of the Luminary / Needle of the Luminary / Alembic of the Luminary / Pan of the Luminary / Pick of the Luminary / Axe of the Luminary / Rod of the Luminary
As I'm reading it that could mean two things, especially considering it also includes the Gatherer Luminary weapons.

    1. They degrade tad slower and don't need to be repaired as much. Woo. Nobody gives a damn about their Dark Matter costs.

    Or:

    2. It gives you extra durability to play with on crafts/gathering at nodes - holy balls that's good... if and when we get crafts hard enough for it to matter. Not sure how Durability plays into Fishing though (longer before the Fish sense something amiss?), unless it's just a carpet addition to luminary weapons, so may not be that amazing and instead be #1.

Also will be able to store the story quest crafting/gathering blue weapons in the Inn armoire.

As not everyone will read the full notes (seriously, they're long), not everyone pays attention to Luminary weapons if they don't have them, and some people have been wanting some type of bonus for Luminary weapons... figured I'd mention it so more people are aware.

Also, Fishing Luminary is going to have the requirements to obtain it reduced.

Given how the spiritbonding stat works I would guess it halved durability loss. The alternative is negate durability loss entirely. Since they didn't want luminary to actually be better.

i read it that you loose less durability on your equip ---> less repair fee
    like increased binding stat

Reduced Durability Loss is exactly how the stat on the Onion Helm is phrased. So basically, it's just going to reduce how often you have to repair your gear.

That sounds like a waste, if your already 50 how much repairing your doing in the first place.

I hope its more like less Due used in crafting even if it's -2 per move and more swings in gathering even only one more strike. That's how I read it but probably wrong.

I read it and immediately think it's 1. They didn't want people to QQ that they have to get the Luminary tools to finish a recipe but less repair bill is acceptable.

If there is a similar case with the Onion, it's repair is my conclusion.

I'm going to end up getting the Luminary Pick through farming shards based on the achievement requirements. I'm 2000/4000 on all three of the tier 5's. Wind in the shroud, Fire in Thanalan, Ice and Earth in Lominsa. This doesn't really make that better or worse.

I am loving this change. I love my Luminary and excited that at least it will lower my repair bills.

I think it might even decrease the wear on the whole set gear you have equipped - if yes - then it will be actually worth having / griding for the Luminary tools although prior patch notes release I was hoping for some more usefull benefit of the Luminary like increased GP regen for DoL and something in that lines for DoH as well - maybe 3 - 5% increase on all touch and synth actions or similar ...
