I'm looking forward to housing

To take what I said in another thread;

Initial reaction: Annoyed as hell, getting a House was the first thing I planned on doing in 2.1, and so far it seems like I'm the only one in my FC interested (pretty much all the Gil donated is mine). That idea just went out the window, down the street, to the airport, across to Russia, boarded a Soyuz rocket, and is now hurtling into space, destination: the Sun.

That said, I don't think I actually mind it all that much... OK, this has pretty much killed Furniture as a market on effected servers, seeing as the people who can afford Housing probably have all the necessary crafts already, so nobody will by buying Furniture any time soon. And I'm not going to be getting the House I want for a long time, but you know what? I wanted a long term goal in XIV. Now I have one.

I can already account for 2% of the cost of a first class large house on Excalibur, and so far I haven't actively been trying to make Gil. If I put effort in and make it an active event, things should go much faster, and if I can get the rest of my Free Company (don't even have 8 active members) on board it probably wont take too long. Heck, give it a week and I could probably get a small house fairly easily, though screw that noise.

The more I think about this, the more I like it. It's like Relic weapons way back in XI, except instead of the Linkshell leader screwing everyone over to get a Relic, everyone gets a house.

Farming gils isn't group content at all (it's not even content in the first place, should the money be removed totally from the game it wouldn't change your gaming experience).

As an avid crafter and gatherer, I disagree completely. Remove Gil from the game and I'd actually cancel my subscription right away, a MMOs economy is a major part of the experience for me.
