this is a classic design to not kill a game off. Housing prices is probably the second challenge ever brought into this game aside from fully completing coil. What people here are upset about is for pretty much the wrong reasons. The people in this thread want houses very easily obtainable for everyone. Now this sounds nice and all, but I've played enough games to know where this would head off to: everyone gets maxed out, then leave to find a new game to play. A game with no challenge and a game with everyone obtaining the same things even though some worked harder for it will kill off the hardcore population. Whether you love them or not, hardcore players is half of what keeps a game alive.

Theres a difference though between making something require hard work to obtain and being impossible to obtain. Maxing out your Gear for BiS. That takes some hard work (several months).

With this, people could spend years and never get that much gil.

I have the strong suspicion that gil is not nearly as widely distributed as Yoshi thinks it is, and only a very small percentage of the FC's will be able to afford any house on the Legacy servers any time soon. Yes, there are individuals with 10's of millions by themselves, but there are a lot of 20 person FC's with half inactive players, and the rest having 200K-2M each. I would not be in the least surprised if a significant portion of the rich individuals fall into a small number of Free Companies.

I have. On my server the most ghetto plot of land you can get is 4M. Now assuming your fc is 10 members. I consider this pretty small, and I don't know the minimum fc size is but I'll stick with 10. Each player chipping in the gil they earned from questing up until that point should be 250k per person. That's 2.5M, already over the halfway point. 12 WP runs get you 9 philo mats, which can get you 150k - 180 (ionno depends on server but this is the price on the least inflated one). There's your 4M gil. Or at least close to it.

The prices are made to have your fc make a team effort. Not solo it.

This explains your attitude. You have no place in the argument, your housing is cheap. Our fc is working with the same gil you are but we have to pay 20mil for smallest.

This is FC housing, not personal. Many of these cplaints are from groups with <50 people. I've got 600k somehow and have done VERY little to work up money. If a real FC wants a house, they should have no problem getting one. Now as to the 600m house,
