The base price on my server for the smallest, crappiest plot of land is 20,000,000. Not 4 million. My FC has about 3 million total, and we've been working for weeks now, some people longer.I have. On my server the most ghetto plot of land you can get is 4M. Now assuming your fc is 10 members. I consider this pretty small, and I don't know the minimum fc size is but I'll stick with 10. Each player chipping in the gil they earned from questing up until that point should be 250k per person. That's 2.5M, already over the halfway point. 12 WP runs get you 9 philo mats, which can get you 150k - 180 (ionno depends on server but this is the price on the least inflated one). There's your 4M gil. Or at least close to it.
The prices are made to have your fc make a team effort. Not solo it.
Well here is the elephant in the room.
Setting the prices at this high point will encourage alot of stress on FC members to generate as much gil as they possibly can, leading to some less than kosher ways of obtaining gil. (Botting , RMT, economy manipulation)
Before you had individuals doing this now you may have whole FC manipulating the market/ in game economy so that they can afford to buy the big plot of land. For those that don't think that was possible remember the tier 4 materia / fleece debacle in 1.0?
If they are hoping to decrease inflation on the market boards, they may find they actually accomplish the opposite at least in the short term.
Ok, I know I shouldn't be doing this, but for some reason I just can't stop myself from being a troll this morning.
"Content should be accessible to everyone"
Where were all of you when I was debating my butt off for a story mode Coil (without gear rewards) and all everyone kept telling me was "Learn to Play" and "You can't get content if you don't work for it"
><
Trolling over.
Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
You were warned.
Cash shop in, TrystWildkey out.

lol by the time I can afford the cheapest FC house, personal houses will be out so I guess I"ll start saving up for that instead
now what about the new players who were unlucky enough to have to roll on a legacy server to play with friends?I have. On my server the most ghetto plot of land you can get is 4M. Now assuming your fc is 10 members. I consider this pretty small, and I don't know the minimum fc size is but I'll stick with 10. I definitely agree that the Legacy server prices are absolutely bonkers. The rest aren't all that terrible and those servers (mine included) shouldn't be complaining too much. My FC is medium sized and we have 20 mil banked and the FC didn't start a serious housing bank until partway through November. A bit of a push and we'd easily get the 125mil for the best plot within about a month (and a good chance the price would be lower by then too). The costs for the low end could definitely be lower though. I feel like every FC should have the shot at a house. I DO NOT feel however that every FC needs one the day of the patch. OUr leader wants a big house so if we have to farm and bank for an extra 2-3 weeks that's fine. Also. housing is a limited server resource. Every instance takes up hard drive space and network resources.
One more thing...these loaded crafters if they wanted to could create their own solo FC and grind up to Rank 6 and purchase an FC house as if it were a personal house...thus the prices need to be kept reasonably high.

Firstly, it is Free Company housing, it is supposed to be purchased by multiple people.
Secondly, if you expected to purchase the best of something on the first day of the patch, you are sadly mistaken.
Someone who gets it. Im not white knighting this game, but we finally have some long term, non-essential content and people moan because it isnt day one accessible.I definitely agree that the Legacy server prices are absolutely bonkers. Okay now this is a decent point (first one in like 4 pages lol). That sucks. I won't lie. That just sucks. I don't have experience on legacy servers but I can at least guess that the economy is still inflated. New players can still earn 8 figure gil at a much faster rate than normal servers, but yes the quest gold is a small crutch. Nothing is perfect I guess.
Earth to yamface, yours is only 1 out 5 tiers, and the cheapest to boot. On my servers the cheapest is 20 mil, and for some it's 40mil.I have. Nope, everything is shitty, because the inherent system behind the economies of both are the same - one of continually decreasing demand coupled with ever-increasing supply, nothing is worth jack shit nowadays.Okay now this is a decent point (first one in like 4 pages lol).
