Honestly, if that's true, then you're just not very good at the basics of the basics of MMOs.

Regardless of what people say about the large houses, the small houses (except the 40-50m ones) are very affordable, by FCs of practically any size.

Thanks, I'll make sure to inform everyone in my FC that we are terrible at the game and should quit because we can't afford the 20 million gil smallest size house on day 1. I swear to god some of you people would defend any stupid decision made.
