at the current rate my FC aquires gil, the shortest amount of time we will be able to afford the most expensive house is in...2 years.

You wanted to make it a challenge and something FCs would spend work and time on? Then make them obtainable through other means, through completing quests and earning fame PLAYING THE DAMN GAME, instead of just handing them over to RMT like a moron. But hey, I'm not a game designer, so maybe I can't see the advantage of using ludicrous amounts of gil instead of other means for this, after all it worked wonders in XI when people had to spend hundreds of millions for their Relic. Nooone of them turned to RMT. Amirite?

They actually didn't buy any servers for housing. They realized it would take players the next 3 1/2 years to purchase a FC house so they have some time to get the servers all setup. /sarcasm :P

now now now, it would be nice if the reward for that treasure chest were 6 figure gil reward. or something like 50 gold alagan pieces ( its gold inside chests!!!! )

Just posting to add my "this is completely ridiculous" in hopes that SE might actually care enough to change their mind, and give us *reasonable* housing prices.

At the very least, they should consider a) making it the same price on all servers, so as to not penalize the many people on Legacy servers that started with 2.0, or just didn't play enough 1.0 to save up cash... and b) giving gil back if we sell the lot back, so that if a FC *can* manage to buy a small lot, they can do so without the feeling they'll just be throwing their money away if they eventually (over the next, oh, few years) want to save up for a large lot.

It'd also be nice to know for sure whether the ONLY difference between lot sizes is the amount of furnishings they can hold - like, will the smaller houses still be able to get the workshops (when they come in), the retainer bells, market boards, etc?

This is going to be critical in our decision making process about the FC house.
