Can I just point out, some are saying this is a long term thing and you shouldn't get it right away and should be saving up. But I'd like to bring out some us are also saving for PERSONAL HOUSING. So now I need to be saving for both? And where am I getting all this gil from?

They like to leave out the amount of gil players spend normally also. Yes you earn X amount playing 1-50 but do you save every single gil for something that wont be yours? Hell no, you wont even be thinking about that til you get there. Play style factors in here, some of you craft every hour in game and try to make gil. A lot feel gil is pointless aside from supplementing your normal gameplay. Neither are wrong for playing how they want to play. Can I just point out, some are saying this is a long term thing and you shouldn't get it right away and should be saving up. To the people shouting "entitlement" This is a video game. One we pay for monthly. Yes we are entitled to use features in said game. Some of these people are expressing how they cant get that much because their play style is obviously different then some of you.
Grinding out gil is not acceptable content after getting DL. Its boring and housing should not be a hardcore feature, its simple fun.

If housing had been in at launch as they had originally planned, you people would still be complaining about the price no matter how high or low it is. Anyone who took the price shown in the housing Live Letter as definitive was setting themselves up for a wicked burn, and while the varying prices dependent on your server was a surprise, most of this thread has been children shaking their rattles screaming "it's not faiiiir!!!", as if having a house on day 1 (or month 1, for most of you) is some kind of right you've earned by playing this game since launch.
This is it. This thread is the embodiment of entitlement.

I'm sure it's to be found in this thread somewhere, but can anyone put into perspective how much housing costs will drop over certain amounts of time?
It caps at half the original price.

Yeah, after 3 months. Granted that nobody buys it before you of course, otherwise you've got to wait 3 more months on another plot or on another instance. That's half a year worth of waiting, on top of the time you needed to put together the money.
Why people think the biggest and best land and house which suppose to fit 100+ players is a casual feature is definitively beyond comprehensive. Why people think housing should be a hardcore feature is definitively beyond all comprehension. I mean, why ? It does not make the gameplay better or more interesting, it does not add content to the game, it's just a feature meant to be RP and fun. Why the hell would you want it to be a hardcore feature ? Please clarify this point because I just cannot understand.
Well I don't know, does it make the game more interesting for you if not anyone can have their house in FFXIV ?
This does not mean that your home should have the coolest furniture for free.
