Please break up A Relic Reborn into multiple quests

I was up to the point where Titan was all I needed to complete to finally get my first relic weapon. But I had been leveling other classes alongside BLM, so naturally I would have multiple quests on my quest tracker. One of them being A Relic Reborn. Well, I move on to - let's say leatherworker - and I no longer want to track the culinary quests I had been working on. So I take them off the list so I can track new quests.

    - Abandon
    - Abandon
    - Abando....oh crap

There went my "A Relic Reborn" quest. Accidentally hit abandon one time too many. Now I have to do the ENTIRE QUEST over again from finding the weapon, to going through chimera and hydra and ifrit and garuda again. Holy monkey face that is going to be a lot of extra work. Oh? And I can't afford that materia melded weapon as it costs like 120K and I'll be glad if I can make a 1K profit from crafting on a good day (once materials are paid for with profits from previous crafts).

Looks like I won't be getting my relic for much longer now because there is NO WAY to get my quest back and there is NO WAY to mark my progress on this extremely long and difficult quest. And without that relic, I really can't join a lot of end-game parties that are looking for people with their relics and darklight gear. I know I don't NEED a relic to experience end-game content, but it sure is a lot nicer when the party doesn't die six times on a boss because the DPS is too low.

Oh wow that really sucks. I've seen this happen to a lot of people. Can your fc help you out? Maybe try spiritbonding jewelery to get your materia back. Do you know any crafters who can make the weapon for you? I suggest getting the mats and asking around.

Oh no! I would suggest the same thing, let your FC know what happened and see if they can help out. The Titan HM fight is the hard one anyways, so since you've already beaten the others once it shouldn't be too bad to do it again. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure there's a confirmation box when you abandon a quest, isn't there? What's next, asking the devs to implement some additional features when you clean your inventory out while not paying attention and throw a stack of tome items away?

Relic quest is a couple hours of work, it's not world-ending to have to start it again.

I ended up converting jewelry, but the spiritbonding itself took time and required I purchase the jewelry. Fast forward to now and I have managed to network enough to get anyone their relic within hours. But that isn\\'t an option for everyone who is starting from scratch.

Uriahnool, transfer to Leviathan and join my FC. We will run you through your whole relic quest and be glad to help you out. From what I've seen the devs will not help you regain your progress if you abandoned it on your own.

This issue actually points to a more base issue with the quest tracking system. Namely that we can't choose which we will or won't track freely. That is the part that is really broken.

As for the accidental abandoning thing, it sucks, but I don't think you'll see a ton of sympathy since in the end you clicked through the abandon dialog without looking first, not really anyone's fault but yours that you lost your progress.

If you want to take a serious stab at helping this never happen to anyone else, or yourself in the future, then go after the actual problem. The fact that we can't choose to track or not track quests freely.

Even without the help of high level players it can easily be done in a day.

As for the materia melded items that would be the only serious draw that I see. I would encourage you to buy the level 49 accessories (high quality), these will only cost about 5k each. After this run WP til each of them are fully spirit-bound. After...convert them and sell them. Doing this you can easily make 20-30k a day. Considering most materia sells for anywhere between 1-20k depending on the quality. Your bound to get lucky with at least one or two.

If your play time is limited I would suggest going to Dragonshead and farming fleece off the sheep. They are only level 37 mobs, in a one-two hour time frame your likely to get at least a stack. On excalibur they sell for 250 gil each, don't know on other servers. That's 20k ish (after taxes) per stack. Ifrit and Garuda can be done via duty finder. Ifrit is about 95% success and with Garuda its about 70-80%. In a week or two you could easily be back to titan.

The other alternative would be to level of blacksmithing and make the items yourself. I'm sorry that you deleted your quest but as others have said it's more of a minor inconvenience than anything else.

Today I was up to killing 24 Beast-men tribe to complete the small quest in the chain of Relic quest. However, upon finishing it, I could not hand in the item (with it unequipped), thought it was a bug and I could re-accept again, so I abandoned it, and I never see the quest ever ever again.. Q__Q.. I checked out all the relevant NPC, but none of them can give me any quest at all. What should I do?
