Here is FFXI update history dated back way before it launch on launch

But...as you can see, FFXI had a MAJOR PATCH EVERY MONTH! XD FFXIV is slackin!

Because it was so broken that it took that much to make it even playable.

Back when gaming was good and not just for everyone. I much prefer it go back to being for a niche market. Least it was <X Reasons why I think gaming of the past was better>!

From what I read most of the early ones did not even add any content.. Looks more like the tiny balancing patches we have had this far than "real" content adding pathes..

This feature would make its return on FFXIV: ARR, under the new name of Duty Finder.

O the memories , One good thing that came from it though was , That many of those early adapters of people that played FFXI at it early times went on to make. There own mmos and took what they learn from them days and improved on it, Some it bad and some it great. Much like EQ old school players from that time.

They had a major reason to have major patches once a month till it got on it's feet. ( It was THAT bad). FFXIV ARR is way better in comparison to early FFXI days ( Launch)

Ah memories of that game. But patching those early days was the dark ages. Now patching every 3 months seems to be the standard.

You can't be bringing back these to show people that FFXI wasn't as good as FFXIV, it's different times, different games, different gamers. You should also know that not FFXIV or any other new mmo will ever give the amount of fun that FFXI gave to that time gamers. I feel bad for anyone who didn't play FFXI cause they missed a true mmorpg game. Today mmo = solo to cap in few days(the mmo part is just for rude chat) and this market is not for real gamers like it was it's for the facebook users or for the candy crush players.
