Hey guys hope everything is well and fun with the game (although I've caught wind of the weekly cap complaints)! I just wanted to check in and ask if you think based on what Yoshi has said about 2.1 if someone like myself should get back into the game as it turned out to just not be for me after about a month of play.
Just to give you an idea of why I left here were my main issues:
-dungeons weren't stimulating enough and felt very linear (highest class is 38 on my new 2.0 character, does late game get better?)
-Grinding FATEs and fetch quests got old quickly
-Summoner was carbon copy of WoW Warlock, not summoner
-Leveling up other classes after main story is exhausting and felt tedious
-Combat felt too simple and choosing the right rotation for the right situation didn't feel very difficult (I will say though this game's philosophy seems to be simple combat, complex fights later on)
-Lastly, just not enough to do but trust me I'm entirely aware this is a fault present in every new MMO (Is a lot of new worthwhile content being added?)
Things I really enjoyed about the game:
-environment, atmosphere, music, etc. it's all perfect
-crafting is perfect for me, I definitely enjoy it more than the combat after a certain point
-People in game are very nice and thoughtful
-needlessly tedious things are kept at a minimum in this game such as forming a party for 2 hours because you can't get a white mage (although duty finder seems to hurt community feeling)
Anyways that's not really all of my issues and things I love about the game, but I mostly don't mention them because they are far from having the possibility of being fixed (overly flashy animations, world feels much smaller, etc.)
I would love to get back into the world of FFXIV, yet I don't know if now is the right time or if I should wait for the next patch. Thanks for reading!
*Edit:
Just as a side note I do plan on continuing my subscription even though I may not be playing. It may sound odd but I guess I would at the very least like to support the developers as I have faith the game is going somewhere much better.
