Heart Pounding Moments

I have a few videos on YT and I would like to share one with you guys. My friend had like 46 HP left and I barely got him back up as my SCH. My friends streams FF quite a bit (him shown in the video I'm the Tiff-nay voice) so that him in the video, not me just my voice.

What are some of your moments?

I don't have a video of it, but I will always remember my first Stone Vigil run.

After a fairly efficient run, we ran up against a wall with the last boss. I forget what the timer is in Stone Vigil, but we must've ate like 80% of it wiping on the final boss over and over and over. We're learning bit by bit, but some people keep getting caught in the AoEs and then it all collapses, and we die.

Finally, we all make it back to the arena with only 8 minutes left. We throw ourselves into battle, and we're whittling the boss down, and I'm keeping one eye on the clock. 7 minutes. 6. 4... then things go wrong again. Our healer can't make it out of an AoE and bites it. The Paladin keeps going, knowing we can't run back to the boss and try again with only 4 minutes left, and the Boss has less than a quarter HP left. He's trying his best, healing himself, but he's going down fast. The bard pops his Limit Break to cure the tank. We're working the boss down to it's last sliver of life, when at 3 minutes... the tank finally bites it.

The boss goes after the bard next. I guess I wasn't doing DPS very well if it went aggro on him first, and for that I can only apologize to the group I was with. So the bard dies next, and now I'm the only one standing.

At first, I give up. I almost just put my controller down to start typing "Well at least we tried. Thanks for the party guys", but... I look at the Boss's health... barely a 10th of the bar left. I look at the limit gauge, and see is more than 9/10ths full again.....

So I go for it. Everyone in chat is capslocking "GO DRAGOON GO" "LBLBLBLBLBLBLBLB" while I dps the boss solo to try and fill the gauge, watching chunks of my HP disappear rapidly, and the time ticking down, and watching my hotbar'd limit break button....

At 2 minutes and 200 health left, it lights up. I jam the button as hard as I can and many more times than necessary. I sit there, heart pounding in my ears as my dragoon slowly charges up the casting gauge and I take another hit from the boss's autoattack. 50 hp left.

(The boss dropped a Wyvern Spear. I will never ever get rid of it.)

Literally every time I do Caster LB3. It feels so satisfying to drop a.meteor on my foe's heads.

Once during Titan when I was going for my BLM relic, the party was the tank, the 2 healers, 4 bards and me. Toward the end of the fight I cast meteor at nearly the wrong time and bombs popped. Ended up killing all the bombs near titan saving me from death :]

Spent 3 weeks in and out of PUGs trying to kill him. Was one of the most intense fights I've played in this game

My heart started pounding when I was looking for a way to cancel my sub. It is near-impossible on this terrible terrible website.

Happened recently, your usual AK run, got to demon wall, got a bit caught up in making sure Garuda was near me, didn't see repel coming, literally came within an inch of getting knocked off the edge but my character somehow defied every law of physics and managed to stay on. I was like "<insert long line of swear words> oh oh haha ha haa she made it!" ... heart was literally bouncing all over my chest.

Just remembered another one!
AK again, this time thought I'd heal it on my SCH, and again on Demon Wall... was having a right old time trying to avoid the purple lanes, heal, etc. Group nearly went down, was literally screaming for the DPS to get him down. Managed to do it though. Barely. Was so nerve-wrecking...

The only time my heart has honestly started pounding was when we're fighting demon wall, adds go down, then the whm goes down. Then a dd gets knocked off and the other puts up a dot right before their hp hits zero. Then I proceed to solo the Demon Wall with around a third of its health left on Warrior and win. Eat that paladins! Can your hollowed ground save you for 3 mins of frantic tank dd'ing and self healing!?

3 mins, 30 seconds, potato potahto...

Point is it was awesome, and a pld just doesn't have the capability to do that :P (or even when there's just a sliver of health from what I've seen...)

Turn 4 for the OT. 7 mins of intense, non-stop, multi-mob aggro, hold check. If you can clear it, congratulations you are officially an awesome tank. Also taking mountain busters to the face makes my ass clench up.
