Default aggro sorts by character name?

See, I'm skeptical about the name thing. Not because I haven't seen it happen, because I have, but the most prominent times it happened, the tanks (2 different ones) had last names starting with A (V.A. and K.A. were the first letters of their names, respectively). You can see my character name in the sidebar (C.V., for the lazy), and yes, sometimes I'm the one who gets that momentary aggro first. But very consistently, on the first boss in WP, with the V.A. guy tanking, a BRD with names starting E.J. would get first aggro.

I guess maybe if they add together or average the first two letters, what I've seen would make sense... Except in Twintania it's usually me getting this first aggro if anyone gets it, and not the other healer L.A. or the BLM B.B., so I have no idea what's going on.
