Honestly i'd say watch how ifrit fights a few more times.

See if you can,t mimic solo tanking him as the sub tank stunning while attacking.

His attack pattern is very predictable as with garuda, I'm still slightly new with titan but I found it opened up how I looked at bosses in this game.
It was a good learning experience anyway.

Then just see if you can't get in and sub some others so you can do the same.

As for gear, dl is pretty easy to get if you just run CM a bunch of times in a row. I enjoyed my run spree at it.

Ifrit HM is super easy and people have beaten with swimsuits on. I got as OT usually and do ONE abilitie to make sure I'm not on GCD whn I need to stun. I just auto attack, avoid fire, and stun. It's all it takes. Maintanking not hard either. Tanking the fight is easier than the other jobs here. Too bad Ifrit hm requires ilvl 52 now. totally unnecessary.
