New 50 PLD

So i just re subbed the other day, and wanted to take time off of being a BRD. I have leveled up my PLD to 50. Im currently farming Ifrit for the sword, making sure i do not get main tank role because of my gear lol. After that where should i proceed next? Amdapor?

primals for weapon, AK (ilvl 60 gears)/ WP (ilvl 55 gears), all the primals and lvl 50 dungeon drops tomes, those are to trade the ilvl 70 DL gears.

Basically I'd say if u have a FC make a setup for running wp quickly. They are probably well geared, and you can get for example a blm brd and white mage to run with you. Rush full DL set, and do titan for relic, and plan ur pieces so that u dont buy the philo version of it if ur getting the myth version of same item next week.

Ifrit sword is basically grand company weapon in my opinion... What you want is Garuda weapon... That's a big upgrade! Ask your Fc is their tank can solo tank Garuda. (Most relic tanks can solo tank Garuda). And then ask if you can go in for the ride.

Titan can be tanked with an ifrit weapon. GC weapon I see a lot more issues with the tank holding emnity. However, if rng is not your friend it is not the end of the world when working to get your relic. Get a mix of i70 and i60 gear and you'll be fine. Aim for 4800–5100 HP. I say 4800 HP minimum if you can avoid bombs.

Why? I'm in similar situation to op. Do you mean i70 DL gear cuz phil tomes nerf? Maybe phil/hour won't be so bad cuz they are making it faster. i60 hoplite drops in AK. \

Pre patch i'm farming because AK, i60 vs WP's i55 gear,. I'm gonna fill in my missing pieces with DL. For AK, tanks dont' need gear, DPS do. i just keep running an i70-i90 geared DPS in DF which trivializes the content (skipping bees on wall boss, and adds in the final boss). AK easy on tank once you get it down. In my experience one i90 dps can carry a fresh dps (i45) but you'll need to kill bees and final boss adds. If you get two fresh 50 dps in DF, jsut best to leave and re-queue, even with 30min wait imho. That place is super hard of not impossible with i45 DPS. Who knows if overgeared dps will continue to run post patch though. You can tell an overgeared DPS because they will have a crazy looking weapon.

AK gear will be nerfed to i55, the same as WP. So AK will no longer be a viable source for i60 gear. AK overall is being nerfed to be more friendly for a full party of fresh 50s.

If you want to obtain i60 gear you will need to vie for one of the new dungeons coming in the patch.

I can't find an official note on existing gear, but I believe it will be because a lot of people are upset about their now worthless AK gear they spent hours accumulating. This was posted somewhere else before the patch notes. I'll try to dig it up.

Found it. It was mentioned in the live letter.
