please check this thread from lodestone site and cycle through the pages there have been significantly more maintenances then any game i have ever played. FFXI almost never had any. They are not ISP maintenances the ones listed shut the servers down at least for one hour minimum each time they occured.

You obviously haven't played many MMOs at launch, they are all like this, once the major issues are ironed out, and the server/network structure is nailed down it will be smooth running, just like all established MMOs.
