    Thinking of getting into tanking

Currently I'm working on getting SCH to lv34 for E4E but after that I wanted to set my sights on tanking. I'm just unsure of where to start. I want to lvl WAR but I'm concerned about being a viable tank without all of the GLD cross-class skills at my disposal; along with some from MNK as well. Should I level those jobs first or just dive right into MRD and level it to lv30 then go back and get GLD up to lv34? Which cross skills are most worth getting from the other jobs?

Levelling Marauder now is a great choice, except that everyone and their mom is levelling one for FoTM ( Flavour of the month ). It will become a great tank next patch (like they weren't already), but it is getting nerfed a tiny bit for soloing as heals will be much smaller. What people don't realise is that warrior here is a bit like they are in world of warcraft (not very good without gear, but once they get the gear they are the most OP thing that ever happend to the game). When people realize this fact, and SE starts seeing that as they release more content warr surpasses pld's, one side will have to be nerfed/buffed. Although I am not sure how warrs will be exactly next patch, it is looking as their moment to shine, for sure, but I do wish they would been a bit more creative with warriors rather than making them more like paladins (giving them damage reduction).

At least you would want to get pugilist to 15 and gladiator to 22 I think. That will give you second wind, feather foot, internal release, flash, convalescence, and provoke. Enough to cover all you basics.

Also would like to say I highly doubt warrior is going to become OP after these buffs.

I hear warrior is a much more fun tank class to play than PLD. one of our Primary MT's for our FC is a PLD in raids. Pretty much 100% i90's BiS everything and has downed TT....We did a WP last night he was looking for a tank so he could run as his healer. I said i'll heal it if you tank (thinking he'd be on his PLD)

So we zone in and he's on a warrior...i'm like dude where's your PLD I was thinking yeah never done WP with a full i90 pld before. He says..oh no i only play PLD for raiding, warrior class is sooo much more fun.

Wow...surprise to me. I've got Titans axe in my inventory so i'm gonna be leveling a warrior soon too.

Oh and Warriors can be great tanks even now..they're just more gear dependant. My current coil group has a warrior as the 2nd tank and we do just fine.

OK so leveling PLD to lv22 won't be too time consuming (it's already lv15) and PUG is easy enough. I'm looking forward to WAR tanking. I played pally in WoW already and I'm ready to try something new. I do wish they did something more creative to buff WAR instead of focusing on just mitigation but it is what it is I guess.

This is probably going to start a flame thread but... When Yoshi said that people were playing WAR wrong; how were they intended to be played? I'm not even tanking yet so I'm just curious (want to start out on the right foot by doing things the "right" way out of the gate).

Basically wars according to Yoshi were suppose to time their heals ie inner beast with the healers to prevent overhealing.

So for example lets say your on titan phase 5, and titan hit you with rock buster and bombs, and mt buster and you trilled of battled.

Whats suppose to go down is, the healer is suppose to heal you up to a point then your suppose to heal back the rest of your health and the healer stops healing you and focuses on the rest of the party. I think its called holding wrath stacks. Obviousily it wasn't really applied to the real world and over healing or underhealing occurs when you blow wrath stacks to earily and too late making wars not as healer friendly as paladins are.
