Which ring should I get for endgame Scholar?

So at the moment I have the level 90 Hero's ring of healing but I was told you cannot have 2 of the same ring. My other ring is the HQ level 49 crafted healing ring but I'd like to replace it. My current options are

• Strategos Ring - Done Amdapor many times and never had it drop yet
• Level 49 Ring as is - Perhaps adding some Vitality materia to boost HP
• Darklight Ring - Slightly better than 49 ring but not meldable
• Level 70 Crafted ring - Would be ideal with melding however requires 2k philos and a crafter that can guarantee HQ it

So what does everyone use? Any tips/suggestions are welcome!

Allagan ring, drops in turn 4. Other options are melded Astral Ring (expensive) or Darklight (not as good but free).

Astral ring is probably your best bet till Allagan. The price of it will be dropping to 1k-ish stones next week and on top of that you can use it for both healers and casters. However it will probably require a bit of a time/money investment so don't worry about getting the darklight ring if needed.

Thanks I've not yet started Coil (i'm a bit behind ) so Allagan is out of the question at the moment.
But yea hopefully tomestone materials will drop next week and I'll look into trying to get one of those!

If you can turn around without bumping into someone shouting they can HQ ilvl 70 crafts at this point in the game's lifespan, your server is a bit weird. Especially the GSM items.

The darklight ring has spell speed on it. I don't particularly care for the stat as a SCH, but if you like it then great. The extra Mind basically makes it better than the Strategos ring (also spell speed). Same reason the Allagan ring from coil generally beats the other options - higher Mind trumps secondaries.

The crafted Astral Ring has accuracy (and Determination) on it, so you're already in the hole when it comes to secondary stats (unless you don't care about Piety, in which case it would appear fairly equal to DL before you meld it) so you need to use some decent materia to boost it up enough to be worth the extra cost of obtaining it in the first place. The main reason to use it over an i90 ring (not that the coil drop is available to you yet anyway) is that you can meld Vitality into it.

Oh I do have someone who's got a level 50 GSM but he isn't sure if he can HQ it due to the fact that the only materials are the rose gold ingot and the whetstone and its nearly impossible to HQ the ingot since the Philo mats are LQ by default. The Vitality is really the main reason I'm looking into this because lately I feel like a lot of parties request you to have 4k HP and even though my main gear is all ilevel70 and I have a relic +0, im at 3500 HP :/

Yes, easily. That said, the only encounter that you need more than 4k is turn 5 so I'm not sure why pug parties are requesting you have that much.

Full Allagan/Myth left side and Relic +1 puts you just at or over 4k hp. This is assuming you have a tank in the group (you'd darned well better for Coil), but assumes no food, vit accessories, or attribute points put into vitality.

If you REEEEEEEAAALLY wanted to, you could probably hit 5k hp; I highly doubt that it is worth it.

You need to find someone with all of the crafts and properly melded gear. Don't settle on someone who "might" be able to HQ the ring.
