As someone other said, ffxiv isn't charging anything in august, and none of those games are a mmorpg ffs.:O
I think I am quitting too =O, I dun want my pocket to get charged this august.I agree what Alexi said, FF 14 is just overrrrr, players keep declining each month, and guess what ? tons of new games are coming like Diablo 3, Dark Souls and friends, everyone will forget this game.
Multiplayer != mmorpg, remember it well.
And no, diablo is never been a mmorpg
See ya around OP, it's hard to look back after re-activating my XI char...

AFK leveling says it all. Of course, the logic in that statement just says that this player doesn't like the fact that you have to level up to gain strength, or spend time learning how to play the game and use their characters as they progress.
Hey, maybe MMORPGs aren't for you, if you really wanted to get straight to the action and raids, you'd best be playing Call of Duty, buy a character account for WoW, or bot your way to level cap.
you sure?
Spoke with the dev. team about the discussion going on here regarding SP/EXP chains (and your ideas behind them). They wanted me to relay to you that there are plans in place for chains, but the specifics will be looked into once the main battle adjustments have been made.
One foot after the other, as they say!
he didnt say it directly, but i think the source is credible....
'Grinding' is boring, but the uniqueness of this game is not. Yes, it has a long way to go (we all know that), but I actually quite like how different it is from other games. There's a lot to understand and become experienced with. There's so much complexity. Understanding that complexity better makes you better at the game and leveling A LOT easier.
I will agree that the 'main' storyline quest spacing is ridiculous. I also agree that the 'side quests' are too simple. I believe they were thrown in so that SOMETHING existed while they work on more important issues, such as the very core of the game... and ESPECIALLY class 'identity'. Leveling, crafting, and the lack of an AH has become a LOT better.
Of course, it's not perfect, but it's getting there. I'm willing to wait and play on occasion while it improves. I like watching the progress. When it does get better, it will be more 'addicting' and have better playability. I believe one of the things they need to do is balance out the whole 'surplus' system as well as leve-timing. The OP is right about how either you must solo leves or you must grind (which yields very little EXP) if you want to level alone. That said, XI was the same way. You COULD solo, but you NEVER got a lot of EXP for it. I've been saying this for a while, but I still think the way to deal with this whole issue is to reward people who don't play as much instead of punishing those who do. Make a 'rested exp' system similar to WoW. That was one thing they did that I absolutely think is the best way to handle it.
I respect the OP's explanation with which they left. As someone else said, it wasn't whiny or annoying. I will however say that you can't expect to AFK-level or be power-leveled... Why even play the game if you're going to do that? Part of the game is getting to the level cap. It doesn't just 'start' with endgame. If you are such a big fan of XI, don't you have amazing memories of doing missions while leveling up, occasionally dying in horribly laughable ways, and being able to laugh about it later? I love that. I think as time goes on, they'll give it a bit more 'depth'. It wouldn't be a FF without a very in-depth storyline. I haven't touched the whole "Company" thing yet, but maybe that will make it more fun...

Out of curiosity, what complexity?
how about "i remember when it took 10 hours of non stop 10k an hour to get 49-50"I respect the OP's explanation with which they left. As someone else said, it wasn't whiny or annoying. ....... :-( now u can do that with 2 hours of 3 leves
maybe i was the only one who enjoyed the old battle system?
Leveling isn't hard with the correct leve's and enough people to link with, the problem is that its boring. At least in FFXI you got to SEE the game world by going to different regions to exp. In 14 its basically just nophica wells, broken water, cedarwood, cassiopeia hollow.
Leveling in its current state is very poor in 14, I never see any grind parties that aren't 44+ raptors. We don't see enough of the game world on our journey to 50 IMO.
Can we stop beating the dead horse soon? The game is being worked on for all of you who did not get that memo. Hence why we do not pay monthly for it. If you do not like it. Simply stop playing or have some patience and faith and wait until the changes have been implemented. Then turn the ignition to your whambulance. Thank you.
