Waaaaouuuh a total of 55 quests what a HUGE number loooolHaHa the ppl posting in this topic are cracking me up. NO Storyline Quests please... NO Grinding Please... No Leves PLEASE
Perhaps if people played this game as it was meant to be played they would have more fun, Our LS On average has 16-24 ppl on a night to do events. Some days we do World NM, Some days we SP Grind, Some days we do Faction leves, yes it is repetitive, but it is fun because of the people playing. Last night we did SP Grind parties, each party averaged 22-25k/hr when setup right based on the mobs we killed. The people on our server Cornelia, have setup a World Chat to keep linkshells in constant communication there is always someone setting up a SP grind party, only thing that really needs work is the Party search feature. It works but noone uses it, that's a community issue not a game design issue.
As for the quests thingy please try to follow along

Mission Quests... 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 26, 36, 42, 48
Seems to me if you total that all up I come up with a total of near 55 Quests/Missions with cutscenes that were included in the game from day 1.
Are there issues with the game sure, I wont sit here and deny that, but to say its broken beyond playability just because the majority of others think that as well is ludicrous.
Stop it dude doing the same thing during 9 month even with great guys as a limit haha
Go back and Reread what I said, I specifically mentioned Quests/Missions with CS not the inordinate quests that mean nothing similar to other MMO
Are you aware of how many "quests" FFXI had at its launch? It is not much different than what FFXIV has, and is a very successful MMORPG. And you would really have to add all the levequests into that total because like it or not levequests are no different (except with the one at a time setup) than any classical "go kill 10 spiders" quest.
Levequests are a great idea, if the world was filled with a bunch of "normal" quests, those would be cleared with your first or second class, nothing to do for any of your other classes. Levequests provide a system that will have renewable 'quests' for all of your future classes.

I hate leves too... but not for that i want SE to remove them.
I loved the FFXI exp\system, the chains on grinding mobs "forced" you to play the best you could and the equipment became very important.
Yoshi told us they will implement the chain system.
I think we should wait until the update, and hope that the chain system will give us more variety in the grinding section.

Spoke with the dev. team about the discussion going on here regarding SP/EXP chains (and your ideas behind them). They wanted me to relay to you that there are plans in place for chains, but the specifics will be looked into once the main battle adjustments have been made.

I can say as well that I hate leves, not because they don't give sufficient exp, or because they are too easy. It's because they are bloody boring... on any other game I've ever played I've had fun doing the "Boring grind" On this game it just seems to take the word repetition to a whole new level. At least in wow the story line was compelling and it made you progress so you ended up paying attention, not to mention the quests where much more innovative. In this game it's, "hey kill a few mobs get mediocre rewards and do only a certain few because they are the best". That's just my two cents though. Let the flaming begin I suppose..

The pain of playing an unfinished product that you paid is big, and only a good timespan and its rebuilt will... aaah, screw this!

Leves arent stupid, they are nicely done with concept for casuals.
Behest arent stupid, it is actually fun.
The only issues we have are we have been doing them for almost a year for every single day, that is the issue. If there are more things to do ingame, people would enjoy leves and behest.
