People recognizing your character name

My friend and I ran into a guy on our server that we hadn't seen in like 6 or 7 years that we used to play FFXI with. It was a very odd coincidence.

yeah, I have to think that there are people I played FFXI with who are playing FFXIV--just have no clue who they are =/

Anyway, to get back on topic. People who recognize my name in game fall into one of three categories; they know where I took my name from, they know me from these forums and love my posts (yeah Churchill, some folks have thanked for my tank advice believe it or not), or they know me from these forums and dislike my snide remarks.

I play through DF a lot to meet new people and I get to see people I see on the forums, it's nice to see them
Only problem I got sometimes is I remember them by their forum username and not character name, so I'm like... who is this? w

There are are some people on the forums that I recognize, though I don't bother saying anything cuz that's weird

I have been noticed once or twice...I run a ton of AK/WP late night so there is a ton of us that often run into each other. It is nice when players say, "oh, you are that BARD that rocks!!"

I signed up for a df AK run, hoping for a nice quick speed run to cap out my weekly tomes. It turned in to the slowest run I've ever done when someone recognised my name from Ifrit server in Xi. Turned out we were all from ifrit and just wandered leisurely through the dungeon having a nice chat. It was lovely.

I don't remember even being recognized, except maybe if I did a DF run, ran another right after was finding one person was again paired with my group.

But it makes me smile when I get tells from other Quebecers who think my name my name is cool XD
