Yeah I was seriously let down by XIV It's just not what an FF MMO should be... I mean I understand some Solo play but the FF series in general has always been about partying, banding together. Now it's all ''We will make it solo friendly!'' *Hit easy button for solo players* The sad thing is most of the people that are staying are the FF fans yet that is who SE is alienating the most.

I rip the axe from the head Covered in blood and brains Leave the body lying dead Ready to strike again
My sword cuts through clothes and skin Like a hot knife cuts through snow I smile as the bastard screams When I twist my sword
Sword in my hand Axe on my side Valhalla awaits me Soon I will die Bear skin on my back Wolf jaw on my head Valhalla awaits me When I'm dead

    Viking Job Please!

The full version (heard here) is sort of Nightwish-esque.

I know, how does SE manage to make BETTER tech demos than games, (FFVII tech demo fro ps3, made people wish there was a remake but it never happened). The trailer for this game or the cinematic cutscene rather is a lot better than what they have now. I would of seriously taken rapture. I hate that have of those "cool" gamers can't even sit through a real game :/. I know people know people who don't even play through the storymode of CoD and games like that, they just go straight to online mode :/

I love Uematsu more than any composer in the world.

Frankly XIV is his worst piece of work because of the guys who did the arrangements. Sometimes it's even hard to hear the melody because of all the instruments. I still think all the osts where he did most of the music by himself are his best work.

Just look at all the awesome youtube videos of XIV osts that reveal the musical genius there is to be found underneath all those guitars and crap:

That is an AMAZING song when you peel out all the pretentious post processing out of it.

Pretentious post processing? How dare you sir! That's my favorite song, but only probably because I'm a bit of a power-metal fan.

Wow, I couldn't believe that was the same song as the battle track. I was imagining a Lufaise Meadows esque scene when I started listening to it. But, I hate to break it to you but Uematsu is probably the one who arranged it to be metal. Have you ever heard of his band The Black Mages? It's a metal band. He probably wrote it on piano and then arranged it for the metal band. The piano version is much better though.

I'm glad you posted this because I had assumed all the battle tracks to be terrible after listening to the CD I plunked down $20 for. This one really surprised me though.

Yeah but I can't really imagine that version playing while fighting.

Maybe if it had an organ in the background, a choir, and some cymbals...but not just piano.

Then again I hate it with an electric guitar.
