    Quests...Oh Quests.

    I can sing a lot of praises about the game but that's not the reason I'm here.
    I like the game and am still playing it is a reason enough to believe that I like it.

    With that out of the way, I wanted to just say the following.

    Please, developers and people who are involved in the implementation process, do something about the nonsense of traveling from point A -> B -> C -> D -> A -> C -> A -> E-> *100. It is not good.

    In a market where there are games, games that are thinking of more creative ways to engage the players...this is really really painful to see.

    Look, in any MMO, this is going to happen to some extent, it's expected. I don't mind it being part of the side quests, it's entirely acceptable. But for this to be so engrained in the Main Quest Line makes no sense whatsoever.

    The above mentioned issue and the first 10 levels(where you basically run around doing the same as mentioned above) needs to change!

    This game really has potential. It has one of the best IP's in the gaming world, first impressions are very very important but in doing the two things I mentioned above, you are driving a lot of people away folks.

    ~@LVL35-40, while doing quests in Coerthas, I was almost ready to rip my hair off my head due to this travel from A -> B -> C scenario. Some of these were a town away and some of these were an NPC away.

    I really think that you folks are doing a disservice to yourselves by doing this and it's unfortunate if any MMO in this day and age is designed with that in mind.

    The first 10 levels of a game should grab your attention.
    The Main Story Line should pack a PUNCH. It should have IMPACT.
    It should make you want to get to the next part of it, not give up for the night because you have run a 100 circles around the same town.

    I really want to see the game succeed but it's very hard to imagine that.

    There were so many quests in coerthas it was where I felt like I made a ton of progress very quickly. I recall one quest that sent me to North shroud and I sat on it for the longest time expecting a handful to eventually send me there. Even though it was one of the first quests in the area I picked up I did not complete it until I was done with all other quests. With so many quests in one area they can only send you to do so much stuff around the towns before forcing you to spread out a little. I seem to recall if you had to travel to some remote corner they gave you quests en route or multiple objectives to complete the. Except the north shroud one. But maybe my memory is faulty. Idk

    Cant say theres no merit to what you say. At times i felt like a mailman carrying the worlds most important message, and how many messages they were, but a mailman nontheless. What made it even worse was that seemingly everyone and their mother had a linkshell, but still relied on me to pay boat and airship tickets and to spend ages walking from A to B. Same thing with Minfilia, she only uses a linkshell to tell you that she has something to tell you.

    With all the effort being put in the quest names and quest dialog (very easy to overlook but has hidden gems everywhere) it's a little weird that most of the quests themselves arent that memorable. I do think this is one of the few areas FF could use some extra inspiration.

    P.S i think the first few levels are just so you can get a bearing on your starting city. They can be a little confusing for a new player, especially limsa. Also it gives them a chance to put in that OOMPH that you wanted, by showing off their beautiful cities.

    I agree Megido.

    I don't have an issue with side quests sending you off on a tangent, it's to be expected.

    But main story line doing this crap...it's crazy.
    I hear of how tired people are when it relates to the main story everyday in the FC chat.
    I had a couple of friends that started this game with me that have quit prior to their subscription kicking in, hell they didn't even wait for the free time to end.

    It's so damn painful that I rather grind fates than do story. I love dungeons and very often they are opened via story..so I have to participate in this self inflicted torture.
    I really expected better. Sometimes I wonder if I'm playing this game because of my great memories of FF RPG's.

    I hope they change things to make this a competitive MMO and not another "niche" MMO. It's FF for f***ks sake. People love it, adults love it .. make it so it feels like a Different MMO so people can get excited again
