I honestly don't think the people who have "ran out of stuff to do" have actually done everything (excluding the 1.0 players that came in with everything maxed, of course). It would be much better to say something along the lines of "I've done everything I find fun".

When you get to 50, technically you can level crafts, work on getting achievements, getting the best gear, leveling other battle classes, or getting pets, but not everyone finds each of these things fun. For instance, many people don't actually want to level other classes other than for cross class skills for their main class. They don't want to craft or gather because they don't find it at all fun and it's not really a beneficial thing to do unless you care about stockpiling money. Gear can only be progressed so far every week so that is typically out for those types after the first few days.

Others, like myself, find fun in getting the crafting classes to 50, and working on gathering things. Just personal preference really, and an error of players comparing content available in this game to content available in other games with several big patches and expansions out.

That makes sense. I could probably get more time if I was a night owl, but if I stay up late, it kills me in the morning. I can't stay up past 10:30 without suffering in the morning. Sounds like you have it down, and having older kids also makes more sense.

Once you're able to run coil effectively, you'll get 150 myths from T1-4 within a span of a couple of hours at most.

The rest of it, I'd run WP at approximately 20 mins per run for 5 runs, bring the total time spent to cap myths at around 4 hours per week

Lessee... single mom, 2 teenagers, working as a nurse on 12 hour shifts, hobbies, boyfriend, etc....

I manage about 1 or 2 hours per day, 3 - 4 days per week. Been playing for about 5 weeks now, and I am a whole level 23. Usually once work is finished, I am way too tired to do anything other than eat and go to bed. My work schedule is all over the place too, with day shifts and night shifts all mixed together. Then there's the kids who need attention and love, and my boyfriend who needs attention and love, and ME who needs attention and love... you get the picture.

I figure I will eventually get to level 50. I am not in any huge rush, as the game will be waiting for me when I am ready to play it.

I generally just talk to my friends and FC most of the time, with a few WP/AK runs here and there to get towards DL gear.
I don't focus on Maxing out my Myth tomes every week because ... even if I don't cap i still need x amount to get Allagan and the tomestones aren't going anywhere.

So yeah I make it last by not doing that much in the first place lol, i'm strange :3

If you're in a good FC and have a good understanding of how the game works, you can pretty much get everything in the game done within a month or two with casual play. That's just if you stick to using one job.

Haha it certainly doesn't blow my mind, but the 3 kids part makes me scratch my head and wonder when they get some attention.

Hehe they do. I suddenly have better ingame performance at when they are kicked off the electronics and told to go read a book till they get sleepy.

Cool, thanks for all the info everyone. I'm really just trying to compare my gaming style to others' in order to assess how to complete/get more in a shorter amount of time. But this definitely satisfies my curiosity and really helps me understand the FFXIV community a lot more.
