It just all depends on people's lifestyles. This is my weekly routine:

Monday - Work, go home, play game.
Tuesday - Work, bowl in a league, go shopping, don't really get to play.
Wednesday - Work, go over to a buddy's and hang out and drink for a while, maybe get a couple hours to play.
Thursday - Work, go home, play game.
Friday - Work, this day varies some, but usually I just go home and play game.
Saturday and Sunday - These days are tossups. One of the two mornings I go and practice bowl with my friend so I'll get home after that and some lunch around mid-afternoon. Depending on other plans, I'll hang out with some other people later on or just stay home and play my game. Sundays I sometimes go to a local sporting event and am gone most of the day so might only get a few hours to play that night.

So that's my life in a nutshell. Some people are more socially active than me, some less. I think I kinda fall in the middle somewhere. I play maybe 4 hours a night at most after work when I'm not doing something else, and if it's a weekend day I can sit there and play all day. I started over with a new char and I have 6 50s - 4 battle classes (5 if you count smn/sch separate), 1 crafter and 1 gatherer.

Personally I'm working 40-50 hrs a wk and have other RL commitments so I only get about 2-3 hrs a night during the weekdays, I do play lots on the weekend if I have no other obligations. That said, it really isn't that hard to get to 50 on any class in this game, I have my main at 50 and very well geared in myth/coil as well as every craft at 50.

One of the things you'll notice is that once you get that first job to 50, things progress a lot more quickly. For example, FATEs allow you to level alternate battle classes to 50 very quickly compared to quests/missions, leves allow you to level crafts quickly if you turn in hq items (more crafts at 50 the easier it becomes to hq), etc. In reality there is currently only a handful of things you'll want to do at 50, CM/Prae for story missions, WP/AK to grind tomes to purchase gear, do your relic quest and do coil for ilvl90 drops. Many people hit the tome caps and finish coil between mon-wed I would say and already have their relic, leaving them with little to do until tome reset every monday.

I'm very excited for 2.1 so that I can add some variety to my weekly routine.

heh. this is nothing new. some people just level faster, and because of leveling faster they are - if they are interested in end-game - obviously also done with progression faster.

I for example LOVE progression raiding, but only after I'm done with the base game, and with that I mean that I'm absolutely the type of player that spends hours sitting in town chatting with people or just enjoying the scenery, or I keep dying because I am looking for a 'challenge' rather than the quickest way to level up (for example how many mobs I can take at once before I die. a habit that left me 'behind' back when games still had exp/downleveling penalties. playing carefully is just not my style :P)

I wouldn't worry about how others play too much, as long as the devs don't cater everything around them. considering that - against all the stink they got for it - the devs still decided to release a 'less difficult' than coil 1-5 version of the crystal tower and of course housing, I think the people who enjoy EVERYTHING about the game will be catered too, plenty.

I personally just hope that progression raiding won't be 'forgotten', but given the past of the company I'm not too concerned.
for now I'm getting my 'raiding fix' in other games and taking my time with the rest

I played from the 1.0 release so had a few 50's already and now I have 2 jobs geared up enough to enter Coil and am working on T5 of coil.

I work full time, married and 3 kids. I manage to play 3-4 hours a day 3-4 weekdays and then usually 8-16 or so hours over the weekend. My schedule just got changed since my husbands work schedule changed and I'm not getting the weekend time as much anymore since I'm spending more time with him. Works out OK since I currently log on to work on coil 2-3 times a week and cap ToM.

I play too much. Not very effective though. A lot of the time im just chatting on ts and helping people. I work two nights a week and that's it. I have a lot of free time when my friends are working as well as some IRL friends are also playing the game.

    Here's my usual schedule
Monday and tuesday: wake up, help with family restaurant during lunch, workout for 1hr, go home and play for about 6hrs.
Wednesday and Thursday, wake up, eat, workout, go to work, go home, sleep.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: wake up, workout, play rest of the days.

Tuesday, Friday and Sunday are coil days. We raid for three hours each time. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday are workout days.

I'll break the mold here. I've been playing since launch about 3-4 hours a day, more on weekends. I just hit level 40 on my main class, but my crafting classes are catching up fast. Why am I not up to speed and level 50 when so many others are that put in less time? I do things the old fashioned way out of habit. I almost never do FATEs unless they're nearby, I'm sitting on 100 leve allowances, all my crafting classes have been leveled up almost exclusively through crafting alone (no leves or triple turn ins), and most of my time is spent socializing, rping, gathering for the FC, or making HQ upgrades for people doing alts in their 1-30 level range. Hell, I still haven't attempted easy mode Titan just because I'm always doing something else.

I may be the bane of most peoples' existence, but I'm still having fun at least, making the most of my time and subscription, and don't play one day a week. Just remember, being "below par" doesn't mean being miserable. If you want to be the best there ever was, I suggest Pokemon. Sorry if the last part sounds a little arrogant. ....

This blows my mind. Are you playing at work? Do you stay home while your husband works and play the game while kids are at school? Do you make dinner for the kids.. or does husband? Are the kids in any extra-curricular activities? Sports? Music lessons? Do you not have PTA meetings? Who watches them after school? How does this schedule work?

You must have some secret magic formula for juggling!

your mind is blown because someone has 3-4 hours of leasure time in a day?

not sure if THAT shouldn't blow MY mind up. (not that you personally don't have the time, as I know a lot of people don't, but that it is so surprising to you)

Haha it certainly doesn't blow my mind, but the 3 kids part makes me scratch my head and wonder when they get some attention.

Yes, it blows my mind that someone works full time, has a spouse (marriage always takes some time every day), and three kids - and still has that much free time. I am lucky if I can get 2-3 hours in a night (including dinner time)... so yes that blows my mind. (It wouldn't be shocking if it was a single college student, of course- but that doesn't seem to be the case here)
