mouse cursor problem window 7

i have just downloaded the game
i log in i see these options with a finger cursor next to them

start
configuration
movie
exit

however i cant select any of them as there is no mouse cursor and no matter what buttons on my keybord i press

i cant log into the game . i have all the latest graphic drivers etc
i have tried deleting the game and then downloading it again to no avail

this is very frustrating and game breaking for me

Why is it that people think lines like:

are going to get them help them? The tech board is populated by exactly two groups of people:
-users with problems
-users donating their time to help the first group resolve their problems

And here you are, one single person out of the TENS OF THOUSANDS that are playing this game right at this very second having a problem, and blaming it on the game? Really? Yeah, that's likely. FFXIV doesn't work with mice, but no ones bothered to post about until you. Thanks for getting that out in the open for us.

Now, try disabling USB Legacy Support (the option may not be labeled that exactly, but it will be similarly worded) in your BIOS. If that doesn't work, try updating the following drivers:
-chipset
-video
-audio
-any keyboard/mouse specific drivers you might have
-USB 3 drivers, if you use USB 3

If you're still not having any luck, answer the following:
This is a USB mouse/keyboard we're talking about, right?
Do they work (even if just for a few seconds) if you unplug it and plug it back in while the game is running?

what kind of troll answer is that

for your information i have all the lastest drivers installed
and its a mouse im using obviously

and i would expect that having paid money for a game that i would atleast be able to select the options on the loading screen to start the game my clicking on the options with my mouse but seeing as i cant see th dam cursor that kind of makes it impossible
