What is the correct way of labeling artifact armor?

This is a discussion that's been bugging me for quite some time. The community is split on whether to call mythology gear AF+1 or AF2 gear. Appearantly AF+1 is the correct label, since AF2 is still in the art works of Square Enix.

My questions however:

1. What is allagan tier called?
2. What is the new CT-tier gear called?
3. Is AF2 gear (art work from SE) the upcoming CT-gear?

• AF+1 (not to be confused with AF2) is the same type of gear, but updated to be item level 90
• AF2 is actually the next tier of Artifact armor. Only in art work as of yet.

Too many posts out there that float my way to quote them all...

But i call them AF and AF2 out of habit from FFXI...

A +1 version, in my book, is the same item just upgraded (Like you upgrade your relic weapon. You loose the normal one and get the +1)

AF2 (and every other new number) has nothing to do with the lower tier in terms of how you obtain them. (And who says we won't be able to upgrade AF2 to AF2+1 or the next tier AF3 to AF3+1... no one knows...)

If it's an entirely new design and not just a color swap with additional details, i will probably call it relic gear and start the count all over.

I normally say Artifact and Myth. I have said AF2 from time to time too though. I guess it would be AF+1.

Personally I call the lvl 45 gear af1 and the myth gear af2. I'm sure there are people who would disagree and call the myth gear af+1 or something but I'm just following the same pattern from FFXI and considering myth the equivalent to say dynamis armor.

I call the current i90 Myth-Tome gear either Relic or AF+1.
