Encountered RMT that cant be blocked

today had RMT send tells to me tried to black list it with usual macro but it says cannot find character with that name

tried multiple of times everytime he send a tell but still cant blacklist it

anyone encountered that?

It means they logged out as soon as they sent you the tell. You can not blist someone who is not currently in game.

Make sure it isn't the ol' trick where in a capitalized i looks like an L.

You even have the name in qoutes? "<r>"

You don't need the quotes with <r>. As was mentioned above, probably sent mass tells and logged out directly after.

^^ This is exactly what happened.
The RMT's use this tactic quite a bit to avoid being blacklisted.
