Could've sworn in Live Letter part IX (or whatever one was in November), the actual people designing this game refer to the armor puchased with mythology tomes as AF +1 then go on to tell us AF 2 is not in the game (followed by some conceptual art work for dragoon and bard). In that letter, they referenced as the level 45 and 50 class quests "AF".
Edit : Can't seem to find it in that particular live letter. I do remember it being said by one of the SE people, though, when they showed the dragoon/bard AF 2 concept art.
Here's a picture of the dragoon concept art for AF 2. Clearly this is not the mythology gear.
Fishing for a response, but here's to hoping Camate is reading the forums and sees this thread.

Actually, yes, in beta 3 I think it was, the armour was labelled as "Gallant Coronet +1". The stats sets are also identical over all pieces, they are just upgraded versions bought purely with myth tomes.

Thanks for pointing that sketch out, I hadn't noticed the label when I watched that originally. Although it's still a concept right now, maybe when it makes it into the game it will put an end to this silly debate. I think at the end of the day people will know what you're talking about either way.
Why can't we just call them myth/coil/allagan/CT gear, I mean they are not really any longer(if not shorter) than things like AF+1.
Do people feel more pro by calling everything AF with a number so the non-hardcore player wouldn't know what they are talking about?

A lot of us from XI tend to use the terms "AF" and "AF2" due to the way the gear is named. For Summoner, AF is the Evoker's set (the quested set), AF2 is the Summoner's set (what we get for Myth books). If and when a 3rd set of JSE is released, we'd likely call it "AF3" as we did the Empyrean armor in Abyssea (Caller's Attire, to extend my example).

AF is L50, not 45. The body piece being 55.
Facts, check them.

I call it AF2.
Curtana + 1 is obviously Relic +1. There is a freaking +1 after it...
Valor Cuirass and Gallant Cuirass are two different pieces of armor. Therefore, two new tiers of armor. Just because they share the same model, doesn't make them the same piece. Valor is not AF+1. It doesn't need AF to function. It is AF2. As in, the second suite of Artifact armor available to the player, not an upgrade or +1 to the previous piece.
Because that assumed Myth Tomestones won't be used for future sets. They could easily add a new set of gear bought with Myth, but perhaps at a higher pricepoint. What then? Myth 2?

so when the real AF2 comes out what are you gonna call em? Stop confusing ppl!I call it AF2.
