I'm still in doubt, please provide a link.
Thank you. Guess now anything is possible.
Old interview, so maybe it's out of date...

New classes and a cap rise are possible for regular updates, they've stated such before.
Old interview, so maybe it's out of date...Yoshida- For the classes and jobs, we will introduce them through patches because all of the Legacy players have level 50 jobs anyway. When we introduce new classes and jobs we will probably increase the level cap at the same time.
Yoshida said new jobs/lvl cap raise will be released in patches though, not expansions.

Also - Yeah I didn't think I somehow missed all this info lol seemed a bit odd. OP - you should update with a source for all these things you claimed ^^;GE- With ARR we’ll see Arcanist added with Summoner shortly after the game launches. Are there any other classes or jobs you’d like to see added? And will these be added in patches or expansions?
Yoshida- What I would like to see right?
First of all, we are planning a new race for an expansion pack. For the classes and jobs, we will introduce them through patches because all of the Legacy players have level 50 jobs anyway. When we introduce new classes and jobs we will probably increase the level cap at the same time.About what I want to introduce- it’s more like what I think I have to introduce. Something related to guns because the (musketeer) guild in the game. Something related to that I think I have to introduce.
Also I do feel that scouting classes are lacking so I want to bring in Theif, Ninja and those that have to do with stealth. Also more casters like Blue Mage and Red Mage are something I would like to add.
Whatever the players want, I want too.
Lol, is all I'm going to say.
A little early for this isnt it? But just to clarify:
- Level cap will not be raised until the first payed expansion
- No new Classes will be added until the first payed expansion (for a musketeer to be incorporated it will need a new weapon Class.)
The rest could be in there but I would personally prefer to see Golden Saucer in the next patch, but I think its coming 2.3,
EDIT:
Saw the link at the top of the page, Its from almost a year ago so I dont know if what i recall was more recent or not. Either way I would love to be wrong. With the Classes, I thought Jobs would be added but no new Classes, although I'm pretty sure new classes or jobs will be much further out than the second major patch. There are more core systems i think need to be added before worrying about that.

They also expressed: "At least a year after launch" which also coincides with when they want to release an expansion pack. So put it together, it would come along around the time the first expansion pack comes out.
Will it come with it? Maybe, Yoshida is known for pushing stuff back and introducing stuff later rather than sooner. Prep patch before? Sure, after expansion? Possibility - before that year mark? Not likely.
The following quote is from Yoshida himself.A little early for this isnt it? But just to clarify:

Here is the quote from live letter III about the level cap:
So It doesn't directly say patch like I thought it did, but they have already been clearly thinking about it. I don't think "Next major update" means expansion though. I am pretty sure this is on his radar as of now and may have been pushed back to get some more important things into 2.1.[0:38:58]
Q: Are there any plans to increase the level cap? If so, when?
A: At the launch of A Realm Reborn, the level cap will still be 50. We're already planning to implement a lot of content specifically for level 50. If we decide to increase the level cap at the time of launch, we're going to have to implement additional content before we're able to launch ARR.
The current plan is to increase the level cap with the next major update after launch. We will also be updating the content to reflect the increase in level cap. So the level cap increase will happen. It just won't be happening at the launch.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to give you a time frame on when it will occur. Please note that the battle system is completely different in ARR, so even if your character is already at level 50, there's a lot to re-learn.
omg your sig. R O F L.
Personally, I would like to see another raid. Not another turn or two on BC, but a new raid entirely.
