I was just giving my opinion. I said also won't likely. I don't think they'll finish a new "Class" in time. Job? Maybe but I did state level cap won't be raised until an expansion. Which is an absolute. I am certain the level cap won't go up until an expansion.

New classes and a cap rise are possible for regular updates, they've stated such before.
Old interview, so maybe it's out of date...Yoshida- For the classes and jobs, we will introduce them through patches because all of the Legacy players have level 50 jobs anyway. When we introduce new classes and jobs we will probably increase the level cap at the same time.
Here is the quote from live letter III about the level cap:
So It doesn't directly say patch like I thought it did, but they have already been clearly thinking about it. I don't think "Next major update" means expansion though. I am pretty sure this is on his radar as of now and may have been pushed back to get some more important things into 2.1.[0:38:58]
Q: Are there any plans to increase the level cap? If so, when?
A: At the launch of A Realm Reborn, the level cap will still be 50. We're already planning to implement a lot of content specifically for level 50. If we decide to increase the level cap at the time of launch, we're going to have to implement additional content before we're able to launch ARR.
The current plan is to increase the level cap with the next major update after launch. We will also be updating the content to reflect the increase in level cap. So the level cap increase will happen. It just won't be happening at the launch.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to give you a time frame on when it will occur. Please note that the battle system is completely different in ARR, so even if your character is already at level 50, there's a lot to re-learn.

omg your sig. R O F L.
Personally, I would like to see another raid. Not another turn or two on BC, but a new raid entirely.

I agree. That's really old live letter from (09-27-2012); things got delayed. Based on that info 2.1 should have had a level increase. Still proves that a level increase in a major patch is possible. So It doesn't directly say patch like I thought it did, but they have already been clearly thinking about it. I don't think "Next major update" means expansion though. I am pretty sure this is on his radar as of now and may have been pushed back to get some more important things into 2.1.
They also expressed: "At least a year after launch" which also coincides with when they want to release an expansion pack. So put it together, it would come along around the time the first expansion pack comes out.
Will it come with it? Maybe, Yoshida is known for pushing stuff back and introducing stuff later rather than sooner. Prep patch before? Sure, after expansion? Possibility - before that year mark? Not likely.
It wasnt anounced. Thats just speculation from his part.Oh nice! When did they announce musketeer? and they announced level cap raise? Damn where have I been lol
New areas too o.o awesome!
Im sure we will not see a lvl cap increase, a new job, and new areas in 2.2.
To those who doubt, Yoshi-P stated in a past letter than he plans on raising the cap in a patch. Just saying.

I'm still in doubt, please provide a link.
Thank you. Guess now anything is possible.
Old interview, so maybe it's out of date...
