Any Tips for healing through Demon Wall as SCH?

I am not sure if this is just me, but I seem to have an incredibly difficult time healing through this boss fight. I am tempted to spam Succor, but it doesn't seem to be nearly as effective as Id want it to be. I know my troubles are issues with my technique as I have seen an SCH in AF gear heal through it without too many issues, but still better than I do.

So far when I run it I keep Sacred Soil planted as often as possible, spam succor within reason, keep Rouse up and try to heal like I normally would.

    Any tips from seasoned Scholars?

its not you its your team! between you and your fairy the most you should have to do is spot heal someone that makes a mistake!

dps up till the add phase, if you see your prty can't burn wall before adds spawn then go full heal and spot heal (let your fairy do most of the healing) you will be removing debuffs mostly from party members that can't stay out of floor AOE's the rest is up to your dps!

if you want you can place the fairy in the middle, this however is not needed for this fight.

edit: lastly don't spam succor, use it in between repel's

The way I do it depends on the tank:

Good tank = pre fight fey illumination, succor, Aldo on tank, cleric stance, bio 2 miasma bio etc
Ok/Bad Tank = pre fight fey illumination, succor, Aldo on tank, sacred soil, eye for an eye, virus

    Then use succor/embrace/physick as needed.

Haven't had any issues with the fight at all tho.

I start the fight in cleric stance, succor before the pull, place pet by the tank, and go into my dps rotation. Right before the knockback I’ll drop cleric stance, succor, and succor a second time after the knockback. From there I reposition my pet and go back to dps’ing until the next knockback. Once the bees spawn, I drop a ss in the center, pop fey/whispering, cleric stance/refresh dots, then drop cleric stance and heal for the remainder of the fight. Assuming dps isn’t terrible, dw should die before the next knockback (and if they’re good, it should die before the bees even spawn).

Also, place the fairy in the middle row. That way she only gets hit with heavy and not slow.

-Place Eos in the middle of the battle field (you may have to do this after every repel)
-To be extra safe you could toss sacred soil+succor before repel is going to happen, but it's not necessary
-Other than the situation stated above I save my A-stacks for lustrate in case party members accidentally runs into too many of those void zones
-When the bees pop you heal as usual, and succor here and there, and toss lustrates when a members hp is dangerously low
    -Use Virus
-E4E on tank when bees pop

If you're still having a problem healing then it's most likely the other party members that are the issue ...like a tank who let the bees eat your face off while you heal, dps who keep getting dmg/heavy/slow from running into void zones, someone not staying in the middle when repel happens, etc.

I usually just assume its an issue with my heals, but half of these tips I didn't even think to do, so maybe it was an issue with me. All the same, thanks for the advice =)

To all the people saying do this and that buff to the tank going in..... just no, no no no no no no.

Demon wall doesn't focus any one person it randomly shoots people, for very little damage.

Your fairy can more than cover this, and have time to heal people up after repels before needing to heal more from the wall attack, and it can do all this while slowed..... unless your group sucks and stands in purple.

With any half decent group you should be in cleric stance until bees spawn and even with bad dps adding you in cleric and tank in sword oath or just out of defiance if its a war you should still be able to kill it seconds after bees spawn.

And as a frame of reference for bad dps, I had a pt for this with 2 smns both getting out dpsed by their garuda egis, and we killed it before bees (as tank I was doing roughly 155 or 3x the smn dps and our sch was doing about 120)

Stoneskin and flat barriers are more useful for this fight than damage mitigation. As mentioned above, the demonwall itself does very little damage. The biggest portion of damage come from the automated aoe attacks on the side and center. It is imperative to dodge those as they apply a slow and heavy debuff, as well as a disease debuff that reduces the effectiveness of heals by 50%.

If you need to heal someone, you will have to first remove the disease debuff using Leech so your heals will be effective. If you don't want to or can't, a stoneskin will help negate a good chunk of damage. Similarly, remove paralysis inflicted by the bees. You can rouse your fairy if you need the extra healing power, but be aware of disease, heavy, and paralysis debuffs as those will decrease healing and make it more likely for players to get hit by the boss or bee aoe. For the most part, damage is easy to heal on the demonwall. It is more important for you to remove the debuffs and for players to avoid the aoe.

I spend most of the fight in cleric stance. I break out of it after each repeat of the Aoe pattern to top players off with succor and give them the barrier effect for the next round. I tend to cast succor after the side aoe is laid out as players group up in center and it prevents damage from the repel and poison as well. It's not strictly necessary as I find myself overhealing still, but I do it because it is a dead time in my dot rotation for the fight.

The bees that spawn are the biggest concern and are usually responsible for killing the party. They deal the most amount of damage and their aoe paralysis may stop players from dodging in time and slow dps. Stoneskin, Adlo, and eye for eye are good ways of keeping your tank alive that you can throw up after the 2nd repel. There are two tactics: the first is to kill the bees quickly (LB or single target). Even killing one can help make it easier for your team to move and dodge. Unfortunately, it does mean you have less time to kill the boss before the wall crushes you against the poison. If you are not dodging though, killing the bees makes it easier to survive the Demonwall's very predictable pattern. The second option is to have the tank aggro the bees while everyone focuses on the boss. If the tank and dps are good, you might kill the boss before the next repel.

I really don't think it's you. I did this for the first time last night. As WHM, granted, but still. I only had to cast Medica II once, and occasionally throw a spot heal out. The wall does barely any damage, so the only thing that really matters is the adds. You really shouldn't be having trouble healing it, so I think your party might be making quite a few mistakes in these cases.
