Coil Turn 2 ADS fight, prove me wrong

I'm not sure if this the right place to write this.

So i joined a random to enter turn 2, we were 2 PLD, 2 BRD, 1 BLM ,1 SCH, 1 WHM and me as a Dragoon.

at the ADS fight we were doing the rot method, i was receiving damages and i died many times when ADS switch to the other tank. however the tanks were facing eachothers, 1 at 3 o'clock and the other 9 o'clock and i was standing at 6 o'clock or behind the ADS.

the party kicked me due to many times i died.
    The 2 questions here:
are the tanks supposed to be standing next to eachothers? one at 3 o'clock and the other at 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock and ADS swich to the other tank at 90 degree not 180?
    Or
Am i in that case standing in the wrong place?

Prove me wrong, but im sure it's the tanks fault.

    Thanx for reading

It should be a 10 & 2, giving a bit more room at 6 for melee DPS than 9/3. When doing 9/3 there is VERY little room for mdps and it's all flank.

Our mnk takes a shedload of dmg too its only dangerous when both healers try to top him off at the same time though, tell 1 of them 'you are tanks only'

It's a complaint that I've heard from our DRG, as well. I can't answer for myself, being a BRD and all, but he was also dying a lot that day.

well you didn't exactly say what killed you. But if it was the cleave you were obviously on the side ADS took to turn around. means either you were just unlucky or tanks stood like it had to use this side. Though i can't see how a single cleave would kill you.

The tanks should be 90 degree angle. One tank at 12 and the other at 9. Sometimes it's 1 and 9 but either way that formation is easy on melee. If the tanks at 1 in front of the boss and 1 in back of the back melee will always die. Also my group does 2 melee with the 90 degree method and we kill it everytime. Guess it takes practice

Tanks should be more than 90, around 120 degree angle. Standing exactly opposite each other (180 degrees) makes it very hard for melee as ADS can turn either way

One in front and one behind works perfectly fine for one melee. So, yeah unless you were receiving absolutely no healing then its your fault. I haven't seen a cleave in this game that extends 180 degrees so if you were truly standing on the side you would not have been hit, and definitely not been hit ever time. And you should nvr be standing behind, you should only be going behind him for long enough for your attack to register, and only when you know a tank swap is not imminent.

My group has been doing it that way for since like September with absolutely no problems for out melee.

Did you die from Ballists or the propelling cannon(name correct?) did you let a Rot Timer expire and blow everyone up?

I'm a healer, I have NEVER...EVER...had someone die from normal damage..not even taking a ground AoE to the face in that fight...it's always rot that kills someone(everyone)
