Reason not to roll a Roegadyn...is Miqo'te have Major Boobage.

This clearly doesn't make sense considering that Highlanders and Roegadyns are the ones with major boobage XD.

I actually see quite many roes on Odin, much more than on beta, at least. Still, it's always a big deal when I bump into another female roegadyn, I always stop whatever I was doing, zoom a little bit to take a look at the character's face, maybe give them a poke or a wave and continue on. n_n Male roes are ok, but females are just gorgeous. There's so many female characters in this game that look like teenagers, so it's a nice change to have a more mature looking ladies.

^ This is exactly how I react whenever I spot a female roegadyn. Minus the poke and wave lol. I really like how Roegadyns look like. Especially the female ones. The game needs more female roegadyns! D:

I love my Roe. I usually feel the need to level an alt race in MMOs and regular games, but I haven't in FFXIV.

I see Roe quite a bit, even excluding the four I play with a lot (and yes, they skew the results a bit). Usually that's just walking around RT waiting for a queue (see quite a few Roe PLD and WAR there), but I see a couple hanging around the Market Boards or crafting too.

I suppose from a Lore perspective, you could liken it to mammals and size. The larger the mammal (generally) the fewer offspring it has (litter size and frequency).

When I was creating my character, I originally wanted to play as a Roeg SCH. Having been a Galka BLM and BRD in XI, I actually enjoyed the visual silliness and idea of a hulking brute doing the exact opposite of what's "expected" of them.

"But, Daddy, I don't wan't to be a warrior; I want to study and read, dance and sing, and write songs, and play music..."

Ultimately, it was the lack of the Galkan tail that did it for me. To me, the race looked similar but felt incomplete without it.

Now here I am slowly working my way to someday becoming a Lalataru WAR.

Female Roes have the best bodies in the game, if you like the fitness model / almost-bodybuilder look. Make a Hellsguard fem, dial the slider over to "ripped", earn enough WVR to make a Hempen Camise and Pantalettes, equip and enjoy. Those abs, that waist, those shoulders... and dat ass...

I love the lalafells but I think my heart is with my Roegadyn. They are massive and muscular and very masculine looking. Which are all aspects that I love. I originally started as a male cat boy but I wanted something more brutal and masculine.

Also Roegadyn females are so beautiful and Merlwyb is awesome.

My char is a male Roegadyn, and that's the race he'll always be. I love Roe's and I love their language too. The other races are cool, but I love the Sea Wolves/pirate theme. Big hulking pirates wielding two handed axes? Yes please!

I think you don't see the Roes because they are all running around in tank armor with no visor.

I agree that most people playing a FF game probably prefer the "cute" characters.
My choice was based solely on stats. I looked at the starting stats for each race and looked for the most balanced. That led me to Sunseeker (Miqo'te) or Hellsguard (Roe). Since I planned to start as Archer, I went with Sunseeker for the slightly higher starting Dex .. and now I main Paladin...

I still have a bunch of Roes saved in the character generator. Maybe I'll make a Roe alt.
