    Well because there is the state of Materia that is not in gear nor destroyed, the Materia that is produced but not used yet. It is possible that players may have dozens of these at any given moment perhaps many dozens that are in the "not used yet state".

    I definitely like the idea of another tab. Do you think the materia will be 1 unit for each slot(like armor), or will it be multiple materia for each slot(like ore).

    Personally and this is just a theory, i think the amount of slots(if there are multiple) will be based on the rank and or the quality rating. It would certainly bring some luster to the lack luster armor hq's (rings for example).

    If its like FF7 materia (each materia having points and growth to it) then i think it will be 1 materia per slot. If they gear it more like FF14 (items having a +1 or +2 added to them) then they could have multiple materia per slot.

    Seconded. And if they insist on it being in inventory, at least double our inventory slots or something.

    Based on what I have seen so far I really am expecting a few "catches" for Materia.

    Catch 1- Materia will be housed in the main inventory,aka inventory nightmare resulting in 90% of the Materia i produce being thrown away/vendored, just as i do now with craft grind items.

    Catch 2- Items will continue to be displayed in market searches (ward searches) without any of the details( hq rank, Materia enhancements).

    I really hope neither of these are the case but just based on what I have seen in past "features" I have come to expect catches to any new feature. This isn't meant to come across as bitching, its just observing past features. I for one am super excited to see the new Materia system, classes, and new dungeon/zones.

    Why would we need our inventory increased for materia? It is just like any other material. SE also said they plan to do something about dyes. That is more of a concern with the inventory space it consumes. Materia is going to go into the main inventory or possibly in the crystals, one or the other. It doesn't need its own bag.

    I thought the creation of materia leads to the destruction of the equipment too? Wouldn't that materia just take up that item's space?
