Then there's also the need to properly balance each of these LBs, and all the graphical fuss you'd have of seeing dozens of LBs go off at the same time on screen (if you thought Meteor was bad as is, just imagine 2-4 of them going off at the same time).
I think the point of the person you're replying to was that the -animations- should be special, not that each person would have their own LB meter. It makes no sense for a Monk to bust out a sword, but if they do thousands of points of damage on behalf of the party with a sweeping set of fist attacks, the same way as a Dragoon would wield a spear to do a visually impressive jump dive, that would help make LB more interesting without changing the mechanics.
