About DF Tanks

Was in a pug with a premade and they asked a tank buddy to help with ak. Tank buddy in party chat asked him why he was doing an ak run, the guy wanted a healer ring. Tank says they should leave after it doesn't drop in front of me and the other pug DPS. I didn't say anything and just finished the run but what a jerk right? Luckily the healer wanted myth tomes as well.

This is an MMO. The duty finder is a luxury item. You don't have to use it nor is it a necessity, You can form a premade and que with people you know and not take the risk of getting some impatient rude person.

When you pug, you always run the risk of getting some trash people, duty finder or not. If you can't handle it then don't que by yourself, find some friends.

I mean, yeah, this is true and all, but this game isn't designed as well as others for putting your own group together. We don't have capital city chat, and are hardly connected to the entire world. Only its segments. So, yeah, you're right, but you're not as right as the finality of your sentiments indicate. Thanks for your attitude though! I always appreciate the flamers.

i know this is talking about df tanks however I've seen it cut the other way. I've seen dps and healers bail if things don't do there way. the simple matters is some people regardless of there role tank, healer or dps will bail if the DF group is not moving the way they think it should. As some one said in a different post or thread people need to understand the DF groups will behave differently then premades. personal y on my tank I will stay with a df group for as long as it takes unless the groups as whole say ok we done here.

I keep having horrible tanks in WP... Fresh 50s who try to speed run... experienced ones who try to speed run... with a Monk and Dragoon or 2 Dragoons... a minorly geared one who queued with a summoner and chews out the whm for not holying when they try to lock-out/not wait for MP recharge/needing to keep his paper rear healed since he isn't popping cooldowns well...

Yeah, from here on out I'll wait until Thursday-Saturday to do DF tanks... those see smarter than the Monday and Tuesday ones...

I feel sorry for all the good tanks that have to deal with all the bad players in DF.

This game is full of bad dds that attack wrong mobs and use limit break just because it looks cool.

I'm glad someone else has noticed this. I think the mad Myth-rush after reset causes all the faceroll players to emerge from their week-long hibernation sessions. My parties towards the end of the week are 90% cleaner, more efficient, and overall pleasant personality-wise.

Not a DF tank, but i was helping a friend and her FC with Hydra and we were short a tank, i asked someone in my old FC if he would help, he said yes, and then immediately started berating the party due to them being slightly under geared (all had a few DL pieces mixed in with there AF and some AK/WP gear) needless to say, my friends were slightly upset at him and decided to not run with him, a few days later he berated me and went as far as telling me i need to uninstall the game and stick to single player games (later i found out my PC sucked and promply upgraded it) because i had difficulty with titan HM. Tanks come with all sorts of attitudes, most are d-bags, cause they know they can leave and after the lockout, insta cue. there are a few rare ones out there and i have some across some.

The only one I bailed on was a troll job. First, one of the DPS pulls Ifrit (HM mode) when we first spawns and we wipe. The person says "Oh, sorry!" and someone else says "LOL, that was awesome". And then on the second attempt, the healer doesn't cast any spells and then claims "My healing spells wouldn't work". I got the impression some FC was trying to have a laugh so I left.

I've only bailed from a party once when when a healer and blm were blatantly causing trouble. The trolls I've encountered are usually french( >_> no offense)

So, I finished doing stuff on my WHM for a while and rolled an archer/bard. Let me just say that I feel sorry for DPS in DF. Most of the tanks I have dealt with bail as soon as something doesn't go their way, and then they get to pick right back up into another instance faster than we get a new tank. And when we do get a new tank, most of those leave if we're not at the last boss.

I think that I will level a tank. I think that you should be able to passively level alts through whatever role you are playing. I will play a nice tank who helps people, and in return, I get to level my alt jobs so I can enjoy content at higher levels without having to grind with these A-types.

End rant. Just ranting. That's all. If you are one of these tanks, you make me sad.

Why not roll a tank and try doing a few runs in the Duty Finder?
