Breaking a bots script with trades

I am looking for a official response to breaking bots with trades.

Reporting seems to be the main route when trying to get rid of bots.

But spamming trades will break the script.

    Is this a bannable offense?

I have also seen some other tricks that will prevent trades from going through, but one of the main ways i can tell if they are botting is the speed hack they are using.

Never uses sprint and can almost out run a mount.

Mostly these bots are farming shards/crystals at the moment.

Please let me know if i should stop now, they are ruining the game IMHO.

It's considered griefing. However, the bots obviously won't report you. It's a risk you run.

i need a community rep to confirm that, how can it be griefing if the player isn't even playing? (theres no one to grief)

I'm not sure if you're following. Either way, this isn't an appropriate forum if you're looking for an official SE rep. You'll have to put in a GM ticket for that.

Anyways, if you think someone's a bot and you spam open trade with them to prevent them from doing whatever they're doing, and they are NOT a bot, that person can report you and get you suspended for griefing as you're impeding their gameplay. If they aren't a bot, you obviously won't get reported. It's a risk you run as you're essentially betting they're a bot.

Sometimes GMs don't give individual replies to tickets. (pretty sure it actually says that in the submission window)

What you're doing could technically be reported for Harassment, but as the other poster stated they probably won't do so as to bring attention to themselves.

If/When they eventually investigate that account and they see multiple trades with that account i could see that as 'working with them' and they have a 0 tolerance for this kind of thing. im not going to wait for that to happen, when i can just as easily wait for an actual answer without risking my account.

thanks for your opinion. but it looks like the mod completely avoided my question.

SE is in the business to make money, these bots obviously have to buy the game and pay a subscription fee, if 11 taught us anything.... bots will always be around and people will continue to buy gil from the sellers. guess theres no point in fighting the inevitable.

You need to be 100% sure. I'm a gathering fanatic and have been harassed by those who are over zealous once or twice, and I can tell you this, the GM's are Johnny on the spot for harassment calls.
I know it's frustrating but you only hurt yourself going the vigilante route and harassing the bots.
Be patient and report then ignore, cause if the bot owner happens to report you (and that does happen) you will get a ban faster than slick.

Very true, any time Ive had any type of harassment ticket, theyve shown within an hour of the ticket being submitted. I mean an actual GM whispering me, not some standardized response either..

Hello folks and thank you for your posts concerning possible encounters with players that seem like automated programs.

We are aware that the use of third party programs has caused disruptions for many players, and we take every measure to stop violations of the User Agreement. However, for this and any future cases, we recommend submitting your own report directly to the Special Task Force to ensure a more thorough investigation. You can submit your report by visiting http://support.na.square-enix.com and choosing FINAL FANTASY XIV. Then, select Contact at the very bottom of the page to access the reporting form. Thank you for your patience, and best wishes to you.

Best bet is to report. When Im out farming mats/fleece if ANYONE pulls this dumb trade crap I immediately report them. I don't have time to be messed with and it's not your job to patrol for bots.
