    Crafting Gear: Set Bonuses (Idea)

    Hi all,

    After achieving 50 in all crafts and capping out 8 sets of AF gear, I was thinking maybe there should be set bonuses for AF gear. People ask why bother with 8 different sets of AF when you can just get one set of Patrician's gear to cover all sets?

    Well how about set bonuses?
    CRP 2 set: Increases success of Brand of Wind to 100%
    CRP 3 set: Reduce cost of Byregot's Blessing to 20 CP.

    BSM 2 set: Increases success of Brand of Fire to 100%
    BSM 3 set: Reduce cost of Ingenuity II to 28 CP.

    ARM 2 set: Increases success of Brand of Ice to 100%
    ARM 3 set: Replaces Piece by Piece with Half by Half.

    GSM 2 set: Increases progress of Flawless Synthesis to 50.
    GSM 3 set: Increases duration of Innovation to 4 steps.

    LTW 2 set: Increases success of Brand of Earth to 100%
    LTW 3 set: Reduce cost of Waste Not II to 92 CP.

    WVR 2 set: Increases success of Brand of Lightning to 100%
    WVR 3 set: Increases efficiency of Careful Synthesis II to 125%

    ALC 2 set: Increases success of Brand of Water to 100%
    ALC 3 set: Reduce cost of Comfort Zone to 60 CP.

    CUL 2 set: Increases duration of Steady Hand II to 6 moves.
    CUL 3 set: Reduces cost of Reclaim to 48 CP.
    CUL 5 set: Reduces ingredient requirements by half. (yeah right...)

    The idea is to give small boosts to the class specific abilities but obviously not take it too far as to trivialize any rotations people have grown used to. I figured also that no point boosting the level 15 abilities as chances are people will be using the level 50 equivalents in most cases, and if not this might encourage them to do so.

    Also I figured 2 and 3 piece bonuses rather than 4 or 5 so there is some allowance for diversity in gear later down the line.

    What do you all think of this idea?

    Love this idea. I hope ideas like this will evenutally make it's way to a Alternate Advancement/Merit style system as well. I've heard alot about the merit system from 11 and I can't wait till it is implemented here.

    Oh Good God, please no Alternate Advancement here! That turned into a freaking HUGE grind in Everquest. My 100 Ranger there has over 12,000 Assigned AA points, and I've never used any of the expendable Glyphs.

    CUL 5 SET: Upon reaching 100% successful hq condition u have u have a 10% chance to make x4 of that food <---- honestly believe this should be added to alchemy as well.

    The random and big surpise factor here would be surely welcomed and enjoyed. It was like this in FFXI as well somewhat.

    Hell why I'm at it
    BOT/MINER 5 SET: U will always have a 10% chance to receive x4 crystals and shards. Number might need to be even bigger but heck at least it's a start.

    The miner/bot idea really needs to be done anyway because their is no hq version to obtain from crystals/shards/clusters.

    Alternate idea: Either add this abilty to AF gear or add it to luminary weapons, least this way the patrician set guys won't get shafted lol.
    I have all AF so I don't care how it gets added as long as it does I would approve.
