Depends on the situation.
If I'm the target of the abuse (which so far I haven't been): I won't heal them immediately (unless it's the main tank, he doesn't get healed everyone loses). I'll humor them/argue with them, make them look bad. I'll never leave though, that's just being a prick to everyone else.
If I'm not the target and the target is being unjustifiably attacked (example: first timers watching cutscenes in CM and/or Praetorium): I defend them. Give tips when needed (like for first timers).
If they are justifiably being attacked (example: person intentionally not doing their role) I'll generally stay silent and hope it blows over with no one leaving the party so we can get on with the duty.

I've seen rude jerks playing all 3 roles, but it seems like when I'm a tank, people seem to assume I'm automatically a snob if I don't tank the way they think I should. Overall I'm open to performing the role however the party wants, but it seems like you're damned no matter what. Either you're aggravating someone because you stop after each battle to make sure everyone's ready to move on, or because you move on immediately after each battle, or stop to talk about how to handle something coming up, and it seems like no matter how you approach it, the rude ones get ticked and try to portray you as being presumptuous no matter how you go at it and for every mistake you make.
In these cases, I just leave. Else, when I'm not being targeted, it's usually someone freaking out over 'noobs', to which I usually respond by calling them 'Princess'.

I usually rage out on the offender whether he/she is rude to me or someone else. If he/she continues the rudeness, then I go AFK and watch porn until they leave.
A week ago I would've thought all the people here telling stories about d***tanks were just unlucky, but now I know. Q'd up as a blm for the first time solo without a friend as tank. Got a Relic'd pld that repeatedly accused the sch of casting Fluid Aura (cnj non crossclassable ability) and that he would refuse to tank if he/she didn't stop. Obviously the sch wasn't using that, it would be impossible. He'd also leave whispering dawn on before every pull (I think that may be why he thought the healer was using fluid aura? something) and when I pointed it out 'no dumba**, that doesn't work like regen' and when I pointed out Fluid Aura was a cnj ability "CROSSCLASS DUMBA*** smdfh"
No one else said anything, and its kinda sad that derp tanks like that can hold runs hostage with everyone else too afraid to say anything for fear the derp tank leave or force d/c. Hmm now this has me thinking, even with vote kick, would people kick a rude player if that player was a tank? (or w/e class is needed and less of)

I will chastise them gently for their behaviour, and suggest that we forge on. If abusive behaviour continues unabated then I will just leave (I have only done this once over dozens upon dozens of WP runs, and it was my third or fourth run, and I was being berated for not speed running). Often things are resolved by not outright lashing back at someone. I don't like just leaving because then I am effectively screwing over the other people in the party, and that is just as a big of a dick move in my books. Take one for the team, as it were.
When the world was young, the Sun bestowed upon me his crown; always will I light your darkest hour.
I watch the cutscenes, or accidentally go into auto attack mode. Whoopsies
This.
Please do not take your revenge out on the whole group when a single party member is being a jerk. It's not fair to the rest of us.
I can't tell you how many times a tank has let me and the rest of the group die on purpose because of what someone else was saying. Being collateral damage sucks.
Since you can't remove anybody (yet), there's no point to argue about abuse or anything else in a group because even if you convince the rest of the group you're right, that still doesn't solve the problem. If it's something you absolutely can't put up, just leave the group. Otherwise, toughing it out is literally the only thing you can do.
Depends on what their rudeness stems from, but I generally make a constructive reply to try to fix the situation, and if that doesn't improve the situation, I look at what I'm doing and if it will be easier just to drop group and leave, I'll do that.
Sorry for the innocent bystanders that have to see me leave who were nice to me![]()
