How do you deal with a rude player in DF?

Welcome to the forums. I see you've already seen the common forum attitude: "Someone being a jerk? Stoop below their lvl and be a bigger douchebag! Nobody will outdouchebag me!"

If the run is moving along fine and someone is just being rude for the sake of it, ignore them. Most of the time they're just doing it to get a response anyway. Take a deep breath and move along. They usually get bored if nobody responds and the odds are highly unlikely that you'll ever see the guy again.

My FC has a shortage of tanks so we often queue with 2 DPS 1 healer, and I've been seeing a lot of this lately - people leveling a tank for the fast queues and going omg speedrun as soon as they hit 50, with l55 gear and zero experience playing their class in anything other than FATEs. Usually we just do the tanking ourselves.

Ive seen this with a lot of 50's on my server lately. A lot of new people Ive never seen before standing in revenants and shouting for speed runs in af/ nq accessories and MAYBE a gc weapon. Usually it's a monk or drg, not sure what kind of speed run they're planning on doing but I steer clear. Either people dont understand speed runs or are just looking to be carried through the dungeon. Probably a combination of both.

Nope because it requires a majority vote.

This is actually a great part of why I loved tanking lower content as a warrior. Even if the healer was a jerk, I was able to solo most of the mobs pretty okay on my own, so it's not like we absolutely required them. Being in a strong position like healer/tank gives you a lot more power over the group, which is a huge plus if you're a nice guy . I'm reminded of this time actually when I was going through Qarn, the Dragoon was absolutely atrocious to play with, and I felt terrible for the other two players. But I continued to go through it for the other players' sake, and encouraged them to report the person. In another instance, I had another person start berating the team, so I threatened to leave if he didn't act respectful. It shut him right up. Obviously, these tricks don't work every time, and for those in the dps role, there's... not a whole lot you can do, sadly. The most you can do is report the person and then choose whether you wanna deal with it, or just leave and deal with the 30+ minute que timer.

I'm actually wondering how it's going to work. Because even if it is a majority vote, that allows 3 people to bully a single person.

I play the game to have fun, and this is more important to me than farming tomes quickly. I tend not to get abuse myself but when I find myself in a df group with one player who is being obnoxious and abusive to another player I follow a simple course of action. I apologise to the non abusive members of the group, explain that I'm not willing to play with someone who is abusive, then leave.

It will be a majority vote. Which will be fine if the one who is being kicked is the jerk. Had a tank on one WP run who sprinted to the 1st set of birds and then died before the dps and I were ready then left. Never knew those two tonberries had VERY good eye sight cause they came at us at the entrance and would keep on comming any time we chose to reset. Most of the time I try to ignore the person unless it gets personal and they're the one more at fault for the wipes.

Had a myth tome wearing pld during a darkhold run that must have ran too much coil to forget that you need to move a bit into the room the boss stops at the door to. Kept on pulling the whole room and staying near where the aoe from the eye would be hitting the whm. Then on the one wipe that I was mostly the cause of all the others became mine too.

I'm just glad the kick is comming. Had so many DF runs for a lot of things where there was just that one guy or two that made you go oh man I wish I could kick em.

What he's saying is that, from the perspective of 3 intolerant people who are only wanting to do speed runs, the first-timer trying to enjoy the experience and/or watch cut scenes is "rude" and will be kicked.

Usually depends on the dungeon. I usually have good experiences in WP. For the most part the DF parties I get understand that is DF and can take or leave a speed run. I prefer speed runs but finishing with as little drama as possible is more important. Some other dungeons I just do not seem to be as lucky. I run some 40-49 dungeons for a change of pace, and these can have some problems especially with tanks.

Did have one bad WHM in WP yesterday. He was geared to the hilt, and did not think the tank was pulling fast enough. WHM decided to do the sac pulling and promptly died. He said thats it and left right outside the final boss. 30 sec later we had a new healer and final boss was smooth.
