    Significant performance loss when panning camera at any angle any arc

    Following-up on the thread here

    Unfortunately this was closed a bit prematurely given that it is an odd, yet real existing problem.

    Almost three months later and we've built another system that also suffers the same symptoms, and between that and several new driver versions for all hardware, I am now out of ideas as having never experienced this before in any program.
    Many calls to tech support, numerous emails that spawned various correspondence with regular employees all the way up to 'senior advisors' (so we're told), and miscellaneous digging has bore nothing fruitful.

    I have to admit I am bitter that none of the post development team could not get their hands on two processors, two graphics cards and a motherboard simply to test this - all of which could have been done within a few hours.
    Still, I am holding hope that 2.1 will fix it without explanation, though it seems grim.


    Thanks to those that participated in helping and also in the pre-existing graphics performance threads that eventually spawned mine.

    Unfortunately so.

    I mean to put some more time back into playing (and testing) in the next few months.
    Having been a full time beta participant I feel a slight sense of duty towards other players to help them and myself find a resolution - I only wish Square shared my conviction.

    What concerns me most is that for those who have lesser quality hardware than we do, this issue hits harder and more frequently making the game potentially unplayable.

    Please note in the original thread, I make mention of direct contact with Square Enix.
    Player support and feedback is essential as all relative information is presented back to them.

    The more people contribute, the more they have to work from.


    Also, I've done some more rounds on the world map/content and it seems now that half the population has *disappeared*?, the performance degradation is reduced.

    I have not had the time to work on this much this past month however I did come across a thread that I wish I had seen some time ago. It helps put more visual explanation to the situation.

    I was happy to see that it went for several pages with others starting to catch on to the odd behavior of the FFXIV client.

    Though since patch 2.1 did not resolve it, then I suppose we are holding out for the DX11 client.

    It seems that there have not been any further posts about this concern being an ongoing issue. Because of this, we are considering it to be resolved.
