Because, like, chocobos are intricately related. Amongst each other, and to the materia system. So it's just logical we have to wait until they introduce the materia system to ride chocobos?

They are fixing the combat system and everything related to it before working on chocobos (because only 30k people give a *** at this point). You are meaningless, you are unnecessary and you nor anyone here is not their primary concern for a good reason. Deal with it.

If there was evidence they are actually working on "everything else imaginable" I could bear brown, black, brown-black striped, blackish-brown and brownish-black marmots a little longer. Maybe even for a couple of days.

oh, they don't have to. They need to deal with the reality on a daily basis, they know all this painfully well. Meanwhile I am merely giving a glimpse of the real world to people like you who live in a land of dreams and wonders where you can shape a reality of your own. The less you know, the easier it is.
