again like I said in my above post... it is an easy fix, look up sharpkeys in google, download it, and use it to disable the windows keys, it is a very easy proccess, and if you can not do that....well...sorry.
The thing is what are you going to do next, disable alt-tab? Why don't you just advise everyone to disable all 3 or 4 systems in Windows 7 so they don't accidentally hit a button on the keyboard that CRASHES THE GAME. I'm good; as I have said. Newcomers can't be expected to go through all this technicality to get the game running. They wouldn't even think of coming onto the forums.

    SE does. Boss Key GO!

I remember loading up FFXIV open beta the week before game release, and hoping most of my favorite FFXI features were implemented. I was NOT disappointed.

    Mandatory Full-Screen - Check
Video Settings as a separate executable from game client that requires /logout - Check
Game crashes from: Alt+Tab, resolution change, UAC, change in focus - Check
No built-in Windowed mode - Check
Awkward client that doesn't have any built-in configuration settings - Check
Poor usage of hardware resources - Check
Convoluted account signup/character creation process - Check
(As a beta user, I was unfortunately deprived of the intense pleasure of their customer friendly, convenient and easy to manage payment system)

I was banking on those key features, and so was SE, which is why they decided to release the game with them intact.

I don't understand why there's so much criticism aimed at SE. They obviously decided the things that were unpopular in FFXI should remain, and that everything remotely like-able from FFXI should be pruned, to create an entirely new gaming experience. They even added a "three second lag to accomplish any UI/equipment/item/battle related task" feature, to give players considerable time to plan their inventory/battle command procedures.

Kudos SE. Haters gonna hate; just keep on keepin' on and doing what you do best: DirectX programming.
lmao. Great post. Yeah doom and doom 2 had separate configs. I see SE has learned well. Excellent first post sir. Looking forward to more of your work in the future.

Arcanist basically sounds like a WoW shaman only with the typical infuriating japanese UI hoops you gotta jump through.

Perhaps you are just unclear as to the purpose of this thread. I created a bug report because no other bug report had been submitted. Then a forum moderator moved it onto this forum for general discussion. It's reasonable to expect quality software that doesn't crash when you press a button on the keyboard.
