It's funny because everyone wants Samurai AND Dark Knight to be DPS. Berserker should be DPS. Ninja is already going to be DPS. In short, no one wants new tanks. Just 11 DPS fighting over 2 spots in a 4 man group and 3 spots in an 8 man.

Not true, there's been a lot of suggestions of DRK as an offshoot of MRD or GLD, making it a tank class (although the MRD offshoot seems more in tune, as they tank *and* dps).
There have also been requests for SAM as a tank class.

Given the queues for dps in your average PUG dungeon (30-45min seems average), having more tanks around might be a good thing.

It would have to branch off something that isn't MRD or GLA because it would play too similarly to Warrior or Paladin, respectively.

My personal preference is at least Dark Knight or Samurai as a tank class. The one not chosen to be a tank class should be the DPS. Or, what the hell, make them both tank classes.

Increasing the amount of tanks available in game will only temporarily boost the amount of active tanks in game as they level to check it out. Once they are done or decide they don't like it, we will be right back to the same ratio. I do see SAM as a tanking candidate, though. DRK, I would see as a DPS.

Uhhhh, you can say that about the the tanking classes/jobs available now. People who like tanking will tank, people who don't like it will roll something else. Why not give them more options? Your argument is silly.

Your reading comprehension is silly. Since you simply restated what I said. I have no problem with adding options for tanks. What I will say is that when I quoted Exstal I should have included post 6, 9, and 10 as reference.

Actually, I for one do not play either War or Paladin, and am waiting for the next tank class before I level a tank. I am hoping it is Samurai as it makes more sense with the heavy looking samurai armor and could have some really cool abilites like the FFT samurai. Ninja with it's lightweight cloth and stealthy lore makes more sense as DPS. I would play both, leaning more toward the tank because I already have a DPS class. So you are wrong, adding Sam as a tank will add at least one more tank to the pool, and I'm sure there are other would be tanks that just don't really vibe with Pally or War but would get down with Samurai.

This is true. Maybe I should have said that it may not increase it as much as people would think.
