I put my stats into doing the most damage. Why should someone do more damage than me with less Intelligence, but has more lightning elemental than me, because I balanced myself?

So here is something: What about non-elemental magic?
    Example: Ultima, Meteor, Comet.

If these spells were/are introduced it would be amazing if the spell damage was increased off of balanced elemental chart.
this was what they officially said in one of their q and a

    Elements
Increases damage dealt by attacks of that element
Reduces damage taken from attacks of the opposing element

and yes it makes sense, you can choose to specialize in certain elements, Fire Wizard Bill, or you can go all around, as far as the non elemental, im not sure, but the light one is based on the 3 elements that make up light and the dark one is based on the 3 elements that make dark.

theoretically possible some will be based on all.

basically just like anything else, you have to choose the elements you want to be great at, but also what you are weak too, it does make sense to me.

basically a high int chr with insane buff to one element will have a more powerful nuke in that element, the problem is, against mobs with the wrong element, they will probably get a high resist.

Its just like strength may determine your overall strength, but if someone else studies boxing, and trains for it, they will probably be a better boxer than you.

I really, REALLY dont want to get into an argument on these forums.. but this is incorrect. Elements reduce damage taken by the same element, not the opposing element. Example:

Fire elementals/characters heavy invested into fire will take greatly increased wind damage, and greatly reduced fire damage. Blizzard will do the same damage as water/earth on a fire based enemy.

Feel free to go test it.

Im just quoting what the developers said in thier how to section, if its wrong then you probably need to tell them, or file a bug report, that is thier official response to what do my elemental stats do.

Btw in this game i dont think blizzard is the opposing element to fire, i think its wind in this game.

Fire is extinguished by Wind. so if you wanted to do damage to a fire based enemy, you would go wind? ehhh the wheel is a bit confusing anyhow.

"Chapter II—The Three Conquests, Boundless and Unwavering
    Earth grounds Lightning.
    Water erodes Earth.
    Lightning boils Water.

Chapter III—The Tree Submissions, Timeless and Unending
    Fire is extinguished by Wind.
    Ice is melted by Fire.
    Wind is obstructed by Ice."

you sort it out and let them know if it doesnt actually apply.
