We've confirmed with the Duty Finder lead that the team is aware of these instances of abuse such as was mentioned in this thread. The team, and Producer Naoki Yoshida will carefully look into this.

I don't PuG coil anymore, but I'd hate read about people abusing the lockouts for coil 6-9 when they come out. Hopefully something can be done about this issue before then.
Personally, I don't think people should be locked to a turn unless they down a boss in it. As in, once they down a boss and leave the instance, they're locked out to the next instance of coil.
That or another idea could be to simply put coil 6-9 in Party Finder(1-5 will be in it anyway), since that way everyone will see which turn they're entering and have to agree to it.

All they need to do is add a popup to enter the instance that says the current turn/progress and all users click yes, just like ANY other instance you enter ans this goes away
I'd have to say....that the best way to avoid this is to bring up a confirmation prompt:
"You are about to enter Turn 4, do you wish to proceed?"
Of course, until Turns 1-5 are in Duty Finder that is. Then use that for the new turns coming out or something.


btw if u'r not sure, just check entrance so u can't enter and game tell u what turn are u entering.

Perhaps individual turn lockouts would be more appropriate? I.E. You were present when loot dropped on this coil, thus, you are locked out, but not for ones before/after. Would still have to progress from beginning if you were group leader, though. No 'saved' progress.

I've seen the following scenario from a troll.
He asks members for T1 coil ... when he makes the team he ports us in and we discover we are in coil t4 !!!
Too late now - we are all stuck in t4 and missed the first kills.
Can this somehow be avoided - especially in pugs that you dont always know with who you play ?
Simple fix is toss up a dialog box. You are being queued for XXXXX. Yes or No
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!


It's very simple SE - Stop the lockout nonsense unless a person has actually cleared that particular turn. Being pulled into Turn 4, while not even having finished turn 1, and not being able to go back and clear 1-3 later is simply bad design.
